Surly coming to Iowa

This is cool. I spend a lot of time in IA. Drink up that Pentagram. That shit is the balls. And the Cacao Bender.

 

I am super excited about this! I have been watching their new brewery slowly rise from the frozen tundra via the web cam they have. Now that it's thawing out up there hopefully things will kick into high gear.The sooner the better because once that new brew house gets up and running the beer is going to start flowing out beyond Minnesotas boarders!

 

WTF? Why no love for Wisconsin? It's not like they can't let a few cans of Abrasive fall off the truck en route to Chicago...

 

I would just like to say, I chuckled at this comment. So many Iowa BA's butt hurt that TG distributes so much beer to Wisconsin. And now, I see what brewery makes Wisconsin BA's butt hurt over their distro. You say: "the grass is always greener", I say: "Fuck it dude, let's go bowling."

 

Ah, so bummed I have to miss this - will be flying to Austin that afternoon. Hopefully they get an awesome turnout and show Surly that distributing here would be well worth it!

 

Great for IA! Hopefully the new brewery system will get TG to Mpls in the near future. IA BA's have handled the TG explosion with a lot of grace.

Haha yeah, I know right? At least TG has the excuse that they're small and that they're growing. Regardless I get to drink good beer both at home (FFF distro ftw) and with a little bit of traveling to the neighboring states.

 

I guess I'm viewing this as a "showcase event". What better way to showcase your lineup to a non distro state than in the bar that has more craft beer handles than anywhere in the US? Whether we get distro in the future or not, this is going to be incredibly appreciated by Iowa beer folks.

 

Nice lineup for ya'll, too bad they aren't bringing Abrasive with as well. Pentagram is the shit though, and those other beers aren't too bad either

 

Cacao Bender is the real deal. For those of you going, don't miss that beer!

 

I am so bummed that I will be in Mexico that week!! But I am happy that it is happening in general, Cacao Bender, Pentagram and Darkness are all amazing beers!

 

Once the new Surly brewery is open I forsee distribution to both Iowa and Wisconsin but as of now Todd mentioned that even Chicago was getting a limited supply (possibly limited relative to the size of Chicago). Kegs seem to have made their way for events to many states.

Hopefully they'll find some Misanthrope to bring down too. It's a fairly nice sour. Nothing puckering but quite good.

It's in the works, but it will be a few years. I'm sure there are currently enough options to keep you occupied.

My god, Three Floyds, Toppling Goliath, and Surly all in WI to go with the already massive selection. Why would you ever leave?

 

Did Omar back off his Packer hate after Favre signed with the Vikings? I could of seen every state getting Surly before Wisconsin.

 

Don't drink the cacao bender, it's terrible. Wink wink.

 

As far as I'm aware, them distributing to Iowa is still in the rumor category.

But this even sounds sweet, and I'm going to try hard to be there!
