I just moved and had to inventory my cellar. Im at 43 1.5L/22oz and 40 12oz'ers

I think its time to take a break from stashing beers.

How about the rest of you?

*Edit for clarity - I am using "Hoarding" in a humorous way. I am by no means passing judgement. I have a cellar too. If you cant laugh at hundreds of bottles aging in your basement, but still appreciate the practice, you are doing things wrong.

    I've been as high as 100 12's and 20 bombers. Now I'm down to 50 and 10!

I wouldn't say I'm hoarding anything, but I do have way more than that in the cellar.

I have 5 12oz that won't make the weekend and a fresh bomber of GF Le Freak.
Beer is for drinking, Beanie Babies are for collecting. (yes, I'm jealous of your collections)

So, do I understand correctly... Hoarding: Beers you intend to drink soon VS Cellaring: beers you intend to drink in a year or more?

Don't laugh I live in an apartment. . . . I am hoarding two cans of ten fidy ( it was 3 but already had the 6 month can) which will pass my lips at 9 months and one year respectively so I can observe how a beer like this ages. =) Now on the door of the fridge I am hoarding 14 beers.

60+ bombers and 40+ 12 Oz bottles. 100 of each by this time next year. I don't think I am hoarding I am just collecting.

    Nah,

I consider them one in the same.

    I'm no beer-vocabulary purist.

    I mean cellaring.

I keep trying to hoard- but I end up drinking my stash. I do still have a bottle of Sam Adams reserve Triple Bock circa 1995. Haven't drank that one more out of fear, though.

Ah, okay. I am always confused as to what exactly that means. I have stuff put up that I would considered cellared then I also have things that stock my mini fridge. And by cellar I mean the closet in my spare bedroom with plastic tubs of beer in them. I am not afraid to laugh at the rediculousness

I have had Ten Fidy aged a year. You will not be disappointed.

I think I'm at around 105-110 bottles right now. The most I've ever had was around 130. Holidays are barleywine and imperial stout season, meaning it's prime time to open up the cellar. True, it's also time to cellar more newly-released barleywines and impy stouts, but this winter I ended up taking more beer out of the cellar than I put into it. The main reason is I've been out of town a lot and when I come back for a week or so at a time I'm mostly focused on opening the cellar I haven't had access to in ___ months, rather than adding more to it.

I think I've only added 7 beers to the cellar since October: one Bourbon County 2013, two Bourbon County Barleywine 2013's, and four North Coast Old Stock Ale 2013's. Off the top of my head, I know I've taken out two Bells Third Coast Old Ales, three North Coast Old Stock Ales, one Bourbon County Stout, one or two Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stouts, a Goose Island Fleur, a Goose Island Pere Jacques, a Goose Island Sofie, a Brown Shugga', a Backwoods Bastard, two Curmudgeon's, a JW Lees Harvest Ale, a Jew'belation Sweet 16 and a Samichlaus Helles. There's a few more I'm forgetting right now.

Nice, I've still got two 2010's, thinking I'll have one next year for a five-year horizontal tasting (others include Traquair 2020, Bigfoot 2010, Cereal Killer 2010 and possibly Samichlaus 2010). I prefer the old pre-2011 label actually.

I have far too much and have recently made more of a concerted effort to drink more and hoard less. I have probably 130+ bombers and 90+ smalls. Some of them are getting ishy because I'm not drinking them fast enough... a damn shame.

A bloody lot. Luckily my wife loves beer too, so it's really only half its apparent size.

    The maths are bad.
