I asked the CW employee running the booth at Food and Froth this weekend about bottling Cherry Stout this year, he said they will be bottling it but it will be quite limited in quantity, and to expect to see it sometime after all the Peruvian has shipped. Good news there.

Also was told Exodus will be making it to bottles again....750ml cork and cage...to be released around the same time as Cherry Stout, also quite limited. The place was really busy so that's all the info I got, but it sounded like a sure thing. Had it on tap at 16, would love a bottle or two!

judging by the number of barrels of exodus that i saw at the brewery, i doubt it will be very "limited", at least, relatively speaking

There were a lot of Exodus cases that looked ready to go in the room behind where they were selling everything other than 16.

Yes, fuck my tax return! Beer run!
I take it Cherry Stout will be in 4pks? I hope people don't buy it and say how much they dislike it. I love that beer, so leave some for me! This will also be the first time I had a chance to try Exodus.

Exodus is the bomb. And I do enjoy Cherry Stout as well, but I'm not gonna cream over it.

I was underwhelmed with Exodus at the anniversary party, was expecting a bit more with how hyped it gets here. Still good but not godsend IMO. I really, REALLY liked the cherry stout though, was my favorite beer there, so I'm happy for this news. Here's hoping I'm not stuck at work when it lands.

Exodus- prefer Supplication by a large margin. By and large not worth the bother.

Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout- not a whole lot of other beers like it and I enjoy fruit in my BA stouts, so I'll be getting some if I see it.

Regardless, I know I'm getting myself some Peruvian Morning on my next beer run...

It's cool that Cherry Stout is gonna drop, hopefully be able to catch a few bottles of that. Definitely looking forward to Exodus, that one has escaped me so far.

You rated Exodus a 4.11, but it isn't worth the bother? Supplication is amazing, but I can't go to a store and just buy it. I bet a 750ml of Exodus is not much more in price than a 375ml of Supplication either. I sure hope I feel Exodus is a 4.11; can't wait to try it.

Relatively speaking, it hasn't been. For the past two years I've been delving into craft beer, Exodus was not very accessible, whether bottled or growlered; I've had it only when I go to Central Waters for events. I don't know what the numbers behind this bottling run is of course but I'm guessing it's not at the level of Bourbon Barrel Stout. Whereas Supplication is bottled fairly regularly in relatively large amounts so that its available most of the year, I seem to get extra'd a bottle or two every now and then, and it helps that I have family in CA who can look out for bottles at the store should I feel the need to get more. Last time I was in Los Angeles visiting family, three different store owners pulled out a bottle of Supplication and offered to sell it to me. Exodus is a fine beer, I'm glad to have tried it several times at CW but with a couple Supplications already in my cellar, I don't feel the need to rush out to the store when its arrival is announced.

So now availability takes a role in rating a beer?

Nope, not at all. That 4.11 is based purely on the beer's own merits. If availability taking a role in rating were to be the case, Supplication should be rated lower and Exodus higher for me if that were the case as Supplication has been far more accessible to me over the last year and half than Exodus. I could easily find it on the shelves when I lived in Philadelphia before coming out to Wisconsin, and still could buy bottles or even a case of it if I wanted to when I visited Philadelphia twice in the past year. I have a couple bottles of Supplication sitting in my cellar which I could drink anytime if I want a world-class sour ale with cherries. Everything I explained above does make a difference to me as to whether I'll go out and spend my relatively limited budget on specific beers.. in this case, Exodus.

Obviously, to anyone else who doesn't have a couple Supplications in the cellar already and hasn't tried Exodus already, well I would agree 100% that it's a beer worth picking up a bottle of to try.

Fuck, I sound like such a beer snob. I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a bottle of New Glarus Coffee Stout... which is worth its weight in gold for $6.99/6-pack.

Never tried their Cherry Stout, but just let your PM sit a couple more days and you will likely have what resembles a cherry stout .

Hopefully no one will buy it for fear of infection so I can get more than a 4 pack.
