Big, BIG props to Freddy (or is it Freddie?) from Biergarten in Tulsa for coming down to Jester King today and literally handing out cases upon cases of BOMB! and Bible Belt.


Seriously, I know Canadian Ghetto, Lutter, Phil_S, and Funk PhD can all attest to this. Dude just rolled up while we were sitting there and says "Whats up? Here, have these"... and gave us all each one Bible Belt.

When asked why he is doing this, he proceeds to say "Its a party man, this is how beer is supposed to be enjoyed." Then he proceeds to open 4 Bible Belts and 3-4 BOMB's. For us to try in addition to the ones he had given us. Then he hands us each a BOMB! and pours an ounce or two for himself.

Afterwards, he goes to random people in the outdoor line and gives them Bible Belt and Bomb. One of the coolest things ive ever seen someone do in the Texas beer scene. Didn't ask for anything, and was incredibly friendly and humble.

First time ive ever seen someone give away 6 cases of beer without the hoopla or expectation of anything but beer karma in return. If he ever comes to H-town, he sure as hell better swing by one of our tastings so we can return the favor. I know

 

Just the kind of guy Freddy is. I was down at his shop today & heard he was in Austin. Now I know what he was up to...

That's awesome. So...how was the Bible Belt?

 

Consensus between the people I was with was that it was good, but not 4.7 worthy. Think - a spicier/chillier version of BOMB! Most liked BOMB! better while doing the side by side.

 

There was barely a difference between this and Pink Bomb! For me anyway.
