I have never had this before, pretty excited, love a good lager/pilsner in the summer, and can't beat their prices, especially in 12 pack of cans!!

I was afraid I was going to open this thread only to hear that this had hit the shelves.... I love this beer but... its going to be in the 20s here tonight....

That being said, can't wait til this drops... one of those brews I don't get that excited about til I have my first few of the year and then its non stop for several months....

Summerfest makes me miss Ruthless Rye. Flipside makes me miss Summerfest. Celebration makes me miss Flipside and Ruthless Rye makes me miss Clebration.
Each Sierra Nevada seasonal brew is so good, I can never get over the last one!

Summerfest is not their best seasonal IMO. Ok, but not great.

They had them last year too, but only in limited markets. Anyone know if that's changed for this year?

Never? It's been around a while.

I didn't realize that- I did pick up some cans in NY, though. Very handy- hopefully they are more widespread this year.

I always pick up a twelve of this when it comes out, nice hoppy lager. I'm surprised they didn't rebrand it as a IPL, marketing must have been gnashing their teeth over that possibility.

Has anything but Celebration ever been their best seasonal?

Is Bigfoot a seasonal, or do they have another classification for that? Still...it may be too close to call.

Summerfest in cans is the perfect garage fridge beer!

I'd really like to actually see the cans this year so I can take them hiking with me.

Thanks Gandalf, I like this beer but refuse to buy summer ales while snow still lingers.

Bigfoot is now one of their "High Altitude" beers, along with Narwhal and Hoptimum -- but yeah, basically seasonals along with Ruthless Rye, Flipside, Celebration, and Summerfest. Retired Tumbler and Glissade (and the precursor, Pale Bock) were also seasonals, and all pretty good.

Well, since it's not an ale, I see a loophole!

The Summerfest can release last year was very small. This year's release will be much wider, so cans should drop in most markets late this spring.
