Bourbon County/Chicago brews

    I have a friend visiting Chicago soon and was wondering what Bourbon County beers are still around? Please tell me some coffee... I didn't get any. Also, any other Chicago/great lakes beers I should tell her to look for? I mainly drink ipas and stouts, but like to try anything that is delicious. But I don't really keep up with beer in that area so I'm not sure what's good.

    Bourbon County has been pretty much gone for months unless you are willing to overpay.

    Revolution and Pipeworks are great choices though!!!

    alternatively, there is Central Waters' Bourbon stout. the poor mans' BCBS. (not sure what distro is out in NC, if any)

    You will have zero luck finding BCBS Coffee on a shelf here. It was the most limited variant and sold out immediately. regular is all you'll probably find, if that.

    Too many good beers (made or distributed in this area) to really name but here are some popular breweries with BA:
    Pipeworks
    Three Floyds
    Half Acre
    Surly

    Here are some good easy ones to find:
    IPA/APA/DIPAs: Revolution Anti-Hero, Three Floyds Alpha King, Three Floyds Dreadnaught, Three Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf, Surly Overrated, Half Acre Daisy Cutter, Pipeworks Citra (or any "Ninja" series)
    Stouts: Spiteful GFY, Pipeworks Abduction (all variants)
    Interesting styles few breweries make: anything Local Option or Off Color

    Give the guy a break... He is obviously new and just trying to try BCBS. You were once new to the craft scene and would have asked similar questions.

    Go to Goose Island Wrigleyville, they have 2012 BCBS for $30 a 4 pack.

    Thanks. I don't understand why people are dicks. I have been able to try BCBS and BCBBW, but no other variant. I really only keep up with beer that comes to my area so I really have no idea what you guys have on the shelves right now. Figured it was worth a shot.

    Nowhere, but who knows what will be on shelves when his friend is here. They brew it probably the most regularly of that series.
