Yes, I got a bottle last night.

 

Colorado Liquor Mart had 48 cases this morning at 9 am.... They sold me 47...One left

 

I found a 2011 in my fridge last night!

 

I heard CO Liquor Mart was the ONLY store that got it! And it's never coming back!

 

That's what they told me too... oh and I forgot to mention... they had all the vintages... 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013....

They even had a never before released 2009!!! I didn't even know they made it that year!

 

2009 was named "Alobarap".

 

Saw some on 32nd Ave a couple hours ago.

 

I missed out on it last year (was out of town when it arrived), but nabbed 2 bottles today. I'm not thrilled about the increase in ABV to 14%. I thought it was damn-near perfect the last time I had it when it was 12.5% or so.

 

Anywhere near Longmont have it?

 

I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't care for last year's much. 2012 was spectacular. '13 I thought had a thinner body, weaker on the bourbon and hoppier. I had it on draft first at Freshcraft and seriously thought something was wrong with it because it didn't match my memory from the previous year at all. So I went home, opened a '12 and thought "Now that's the Parabola I remember". To make sure, I opened a '13 bottle and it was exactly like the draft. I ended up trading away my last 2. I just had '13 again a couple weeks ago at Hops and Pie, so a year on it, and I still didn't care much for it, at least in comparison to '12.
I know every year they do something different, so I'm going to try for a few bottles again. But I sure hope they give it back a little more viscosity and let the bourbon come out more and back off on the hops some.

 

I liked the '12 better than '13 too but its always had ~100 IBU's so I wouldn't count on them backing off on the hops. The '13 that was on at Hops and Pie did sort of suck too.

 

I have to share this with you guys... I posted this on our FB yesterday, and then somebody came in this morning actually looking for it. I guess they didn't read the whole post and only got as far as "Parabola". He got really mad and bitched out our beer specialist. I think the whole thing is ridiculous, but if it was one of you guys... then, come on, ya'll... let's chill out a little, alright?
