Not insulting you, BK. Just seeing a lot of this type of stuff lately. If your major concern is your reputation, and the possibility this guy could give you a poor rating, then BA should include a dispute procedure. Otherwise they should get rid of this system. If nobody leaves feedback, then after two weeks the trade is closed. Hope you get what you're looking for, but it's not looking promising.

Thanks man. I didn't realize that about the trade system. So if nothing happens soon, it will fix itself then. That is good to know.

It was supposed to originally. The Bros. posted a thread asking if it should be two weeks or a month. But, I don't know for sure if they ever implemented that programming. Might want to send a note or post in the feedback forum.

I think the one hole in the feedback system is what Brother Kenneth is afraid of, retaliatory feedback. Not sure if the brothers would step in if someone left malicious, unsubstantiated feedback.

Well, after a quick glance at the Help thread, Todd said he implemented a Cancel button a while back...but I can't find it. Anyone else have luck with this? I would really like to simply cancel the trade and move on. I didn't realize that was an option.

Yes, really. What you quoted was a message that brother_kenneth sent to the bad trader, and was clearly (as he said) an attempt to come across as reasonable in their exchange. It was very obviously not aimed at the people in this thread.

Anyway, I think the "Cancel" button was only for trade requests that had not yet been accepted – there isn't any way to manually cancel an accepted trade. Have to wait until Todd implements the "timeout" period for auto-deleting old open trades to get rid of those.

Oh, well shit. There went that idea. I guess back to Plan A. I'll wait and see if I hear from the dude.

Just got a response from the guy. For the record, his name is @chopz . Here is his reply:

    "yup im backing out."

He has also blocked his profile now. I have messaged Todd and F2brewers to see about getting the trade canceled.

Cheers to all the good traders and thanks for the input!

In case anyone was still waffling on whether to add another entry to your "Do Not Trade With" list, waffle no more.

For my sanity, I keep a log of all recent bad trader posts in my profile. It's a way to tell them I won't trade with them...assuming they will look at my profile before contacting me for a trade.

Thank God we're not labeling this guy a "bad trader." It would be a grave injustice if some impressionable BA passed up the chance to be jerked around by Cap'n Lolz here based on a mistaken assumption that beer had actually changed hands. Is there a separate "Epic Timewaster" list for people who aren't "bad traders" only because they were too douchey to consummate the trade?

His reaction pretty much sums up what most of us already knew which is stated directly above.

Yeah, pretty shitty response, but whatever. Time to move on, I guess. The unfortunate part is that Todd still hasn't canceled my trade with this dude. Hopefully he gets to that soon.

Who gives a shit what the Asshat does? Seriously, just post a link to this thread in your profile and that will explain everything if anyone questions why you have one bad rating. I wouldn't even sweat it.
