As the title states which do you guy prefer building recipes with, Brewprint.com or Beersmith software? I used the free trial version of beer smith and it doesn't seem to offer a whole lot more then the free version on Brewprint with the exception of a timer.I am just interested to see what others are using and pros and cons of either i may be missing.

I used to use Beersmith but changed over to @VikeMan's BrewCipher. Cant beat it IMO.

I've never used Beersmith. I started with Hopville and then BrewToad, which I quickly got tired of. Vikeman created a real thing of beauty with BrewCipher.

I use my own spreadsheet, but if I didn't I would probably use Vikeman's BrewCipher also. I think it is simpler, but just as functional as BeerSmith.

Thanks for the input guys. I will definitely be checking out @VikeMan's BrewCipher.

    Here's a question for ya:
what do breweries use to build their recipes?

I think they all use different stuff. I know some use beersmith but others build the recipes themselves using excel sheets similar to beerciphers set up. I am sure there is a handful of other ways this gets done and would be interested to know the answer to that question as well.

I use brewersfriend.com and really like it. After I build the recipe I have been double checking all the stats with vikeman's brew cipher. They match up pretty close. Brewers friend has a ton of calculators and tools that are really useful. Its a good site.
