Is anyone else overwhelmed by the abundant over supply of every kind of beer there is these days? If so you are like me.

I've simply been sticking to a few beer makers I love. Founders, FFF, and Half Acre. After that I'll do an occasional beer but based on where I live no reason to branch out into the unknown.

Do you guys like this ridiculous over supply of new beers?

Go with whatever suits you as far as choice is concerned, and more is better. I tend to focus on a few breweries, but occasionally I like to get crazy and buy something outside of my normal buying zone.

    That's the question?

Do we "like this ridiculous over supply of new beers?"

It's not like you have to drink them all.

I like to go to the Lincoln park Binny's and look at all the beer. And do it two more times. I'm I overwhelmed? Yes, but I love looking at beer.

I have mainstay beers but I always try something new.

Options are great. Best to be able to choose what you like than be forced with the best of a crappy lot.

If you're actually "overwhelmed" then start home brewing.

I enjoy finding stores with large selections. Its become almost as fun to browse as it is to drink the beer. I usually make it a point to get a pick 6 from breweries i havent had yet.

It's nice to have some go-tos for sure, but you can't beat walking into a beer store knowing that there is still a bunch of great beer all around you that you haven't tried yet. Makes you feel like a kid in a candy shop

I tend to focus on a few styles I enjoy the most and try to keep up with the new releases from local brewers.

Agreed...it's like a big book store...isles and isles of books and magazines (beers and bombers)...never overwhelmed...rather, I'm entertained, educated and enlightened.

Many times I will Google a beer that I'm not familiar with just to get it's descriptions and ratings...

Hang out at the Delirium Village in Brussels and you will come back with a new sense of "over supply".

Yep. I love it. And I support it fully. The more people that are out there doing what they love, and hopefully doing it well, the better off we all are. It's a sign that our country continues to shift to a quality based lifestyle instead of mindless consumption. Keep 'em coming folks.
Well, the little voice in my head says I have to.

I'm prone to going out of my way to try new beers from local breweries (and new local breweries) and my not local favorites, but I don't have a problem with the surplus.

For example, my haul yesterday ended with 3 out of 4 being beers I've had before. I grabbed some of the new Fresh Squeezed, too, but more-so because I knew it was very fresh than feeling compelled to try a new beer (for me).

Although, I do have to double-take anytime I see a "Bond St." beer.. That Hop Trip is a great pale ale, and I loved Chasin' Freshies (if that was Bond St. :stuck_out_tongue:)

So many women to choose from in the world. So many different cuisines. Books. Movies. Music.

    Too many choices? Never.

North Korea might be the place for you OP.

Not at all I try to grab something new every trip to the shop. You learn what is in your ball park and what does and doesn't suit you. I love the variety it always keeps it fresh.

Get the book tasting beer and try as many styles of beer as possible( reading ba reviews to make sure your getting a good accurate representation of the style). Only then can you really know what your in for. Its not about the amount of new beers but the accurate representation of styles! Until you try them, there is no telling how much you really like them.
