Forgive me if this was asked/discussed ages ago, but I couldn't be assed to search through 500 irrelevant results for "drinking out of a bottle."

I'm all for proper glassware for beer, and I absolutely believe that beer is generally enjoyed best from its respective glassware, but sometimes when I'm at home with a six-pack of an old favorite, I opt out of the glass and drink it straight from the bottle (drinking a Stone IPA straight from the bottle now, actually). Does anyone else do this from time to time, or am I really just uncultured swine? :stuck_out_tongue:

As long as you stick your pinky out while doing it you're OK

I prefer the glass, but do whatever makes you happy- that's what beer is all about in the end.

    When in doubt, pinky out!

In all seriousness, I prefer the glass on most occasions, but when I'm drinking something I've had a hundred times over, I feel like drinking out of the bottle adds a new element. I don't know any of the science behind it, and perhaps it's just a mind-over-matter type thing, but I feel like the hops are so much more intense when you drink Stone IPA out of the bottle. And, on nights like tonight, when I'm just relaxing and not too worried about ogling my beverage, I'll drink it out of the bottle and really enjoy those (what I perceive to be) intensified hop flavors.

I too do dink outta the bottle or can as long as it's an IPA or pale that's pretty damned cold, but otherwise out of a glass. As another poster mention do what u want and drink how u want to.

I only use a glass when someone else is pouring it for me. Otherwise, I'm hillbilly trash and drink from whichever container the good lord chose to package it in. Mostly cans. Bottles break when you drop them and I don't like cleaning.

For me it's very, very, very rarely from the bottle. I prefer to use a glass, even for familiar beers, for the experience of enjoying the aroma and seeing the color, lacing, etc. Only if I'm somewhere and no glass is available will I drink from the bottle or can.

I drink from cans all the time, but I really don't like drinking from bottles. This is going to make me sound like a *****, but drinking from bottles makes me need to burp too much.

I prefer the glass, but only for whats on tap. I'd rather drink from the bottle or can because it keeps out oxygen and preserves the flavor better. An example of this would Revolution Anti-Hero, which I am currently enjoying straight out of the can. But I have had it on draft. Can wins

On a side note, I love to go to Anderson's and buy different drinking glasses, in which case I will poor beer into them. Yesterday I bought the ever popular Sam Adams Pint Glass. Looks great with my collection

I typically drink from proper glassware as well, but I have to agree with the slightly intensified hop bitterness out of the bottle. Just noticed it this afternoon when drinking this

I drink from the bottle on occasion - especially in the summertime. When informal, outdoor, gatherings happen with family and friends.

I'd prefer the glass. A friend if mine told me I might as well stick my pinky out when drinking from a glass; this was while he's drinking from the bottle. We both had a good laugh at it though.

I prefer a glass when I'm getting my beer geek on because I can see and smell the beer, this enhances the experience for me. But, if I just finished mowing the lawn or it's the Fourth of July with Friends.....bottle is fine, and yes I always extend my pinky, it's only thing that separates us from the animals.

I usually go for a glass, but I think it really became a habit when I started to homebrew.

I only drink macro offerings out of the bottle, and that's only because they taste worse in the glass.

I sometimes drink Boulevard Wheat Corona style, with a lemon in the bottle instead of a lime.
