Hello all. I was curious as to what is the trade value of Jester King sours. I would like to acquire some.
Depends on the sour you're looking for.... they're limited release stuff (Atrial, Aurelian, Nocturn, M vs. B, CdT) are all trading very highly right now from what I've seen. The others are probably easier to acquire
Since you asked, I'll drop some objective facts (re: the fruit sours) as if that means anything around here. Aurelian - 400 bottles, one per person, $16, sold out within a minute Nocturn - 400 bottles, one per person, $16, sold out within a minute Tempranillo - 1500 bottles, one per person, $16, sold out within a day; 200 more available at end of pickup period, likely due to people not showing Montmorency - 2250 bottles, one per person, $16, available for some time, sold out at end of pickup period Atrial - several batches, likely several thousand bottles total, anywhere from three to one bottle per person, $16, brewery only, sold out until next batch, I'm guessing sometime this summer. There have been others, like Merlot and Omniscience, but those were not formally released. TL;DR - show up with similar bottle count/limit stuff of similar quality and you should be fine. Other JK sours should be easier.
Two batches (b1 very small), I think a bit over 2000ish bottles total, two per person, $14, was around for a couple weekends, sold out until next batch, which I assume will be several months after the next batch of Atrial.
La Vie is also not a sour, per se (although everything JK makes has souring bacteria in it now, so maybe a moot point.) More like a fruity berliner. Nocturn Chrysalis (blackberry sour) will be coming out again very soon, as well as a new batch of RU-55, another cherry based beer, and a mezcal aged sour.
La Vie is fantastic, as are all the others. I've not gotten to try the Tempranillo yet but I have bottles to try at some point. Ive had all the others except Nocturn...
The batch ended up being rather small and was decided to make it draft only, but I've been told they bottled exactly 4 bottles of it.
I heard it was more like 12, but either way a very non distributed, impossibly low to trade for number
4 bottles. The batch was just too small to justify bottling. Hopefully they'll have more the next time (I didnt even get to try it on tap - the keg kicked so fast!)
Yeah, definitely not complaining, but I do wish they would have taken the Younger approach and allocated the kegs on a per weekend basis. But, they're in the business of selling beer, so it is what it is.
I traded the limited JK bottles for Side Project beers. In general I had to go about 3 for every 2 (with Rose and AR being the additions on my end) to come out close to $4$. Am happy to have a trading partner to obtain future Side Project releases.
