You might easily find someone to drive you out there in exchange for a pint or 2. That someone might even look like me.

Very friendly folk in these parts

There will be some VERY nice things showing up on that list very soon, though. Very soon.

I see you TWO are cutting into my game here.

I was offering rides back in 2013.

Of course I have to thank @hash_tagger for driving me out there for my Zwanze day.
And @Lutter and @aschwab for last month.

That shouldn't say my Zwanze day above. Ooops.

@luwak If you want to share more details about your trip (where your staying, duration) we can help out. Alternatively, searching the Southwest thread will show up a wealth of info on Austin shops, bars, etc. Seems like you already did that
If you want to share what bottles you have/have access to, I'm sure multiple people will listen. Or post an IP trade thing in that forum and link to it here in a post that's also on topic. Rules!

@luwak is an awesome host. Met him when I had a business trip to Phoenix in February. He told me which bottle shops to hit, which bars to visit, and we drank some great beer together. He even gave me the last of his Hopslam to take home(I was there a week after it hit and it was all sold out by the time I got there). You Austin fellas show this man what Texas hospitality is all about! Hell, I may have to make an excuse to get up to JK that weekend.

Are we talking about our classic drive the tourist out to JK, make him buy a bunch of bottles, and then ditch him out there while I take his bottles? Because, that is what I had planned.

Well well well ....seems the ol' Arizona "desert drinking date" isn't unknown in Texas.... 'course round here we keep the shovels outside the breweries/bars to reduce suspicions by having them in the truck....we're sharp like that....

Seriously though, any advice appreciated. I'll be reading the Austin threads a lot over the next few days
I'll be in Austin May 1 - 6 but the only "free days" are Sun and Mon 4, 5....Austin Psych Fest is claiming my attention for the other days.

I'll be bringing some Bruery beers (nothing too crazy) and maybe AZ Wilderness Growlers and maybe Lost Abbey (quack quack...) if the right J/K and Prairie, Saint Arnold, Freetail etc can be roused from their hiding places. I'll make a list in a few weeks an post it in the IP Trade Forum.

@nsheehan @kmello69 @aschwab As for a ride to J/K well THAT would be amazing but i wont go soliciting because im coming in a party of four.
But if anybody is still considering it, gas money, a few pints, and a nice bottle from the West would surely be a minimum thank you provided by this here Arizona weasel.

But don't listen to @wiingman : I'm a terrible host....i made him wait like and hour and then i drank his Eclipse!

So given my timing (1st week of May) will i miss those good things?
The luwak likes the fruity stuff....

Can't comment on the fruity stuff as I don't volunteer at JK yet, but rumors are rumbling.

Given that my gf doesn't like going to JK (I know, why am I with her), I could probably drive me + 4 out, given that @wiingman has given you a vote of confidence. Of course, this depends on me being able to go myself!
However, I'm trying to skip JK in April (too much $$$ lost/invested there), so a May trip sounds delightful. No promises, but good chances.

AZ Wilderness is a 'want to try' for me, fwiw. Definitely hit me up in a couple weeks, maybe make it a multi person message and people can puss/opt out if they want.

So if anybody's interested i made a post of soem beers i might bring:
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/austin-sunday-may-4-or-thursday-may-1.174577/

AZ Wilderness didnt have anything wild sour or funky availabel int helast two weeks o no growlers.
Also i'd add Le Cumbre as a want

But due to last minute changes there's now possibly a logistics issues with the IP trades...(i may need to store beer somewhere for two days)
If anybody still wants to meet or considering offering the aforementioned ride to J/K on Sunday i still want to go.
My party will now total three (not four). I'll be in SoCo area Sudnay morning.
    Cheers, Texans....

I don't think I'm going to JK this weekend.
Sunday at 3 PM is the monthly Draughthouse tasting, I'm going to that.
Interested in the SITR, have JK 750 mLs on your list and some others (e.g. Bible Belt), but sounds like a bunch of people contacted you

What's the likelihood of getting an Uber from Jester King back to downtown Austin? I am planning to head there at the end of the month and I don't want to get stuck out there without an Uber or cab.

I can't say I have tried. With that said, it seems like a lot is going up around in that area that uber may be more around than it used to....but I would not count on it.

You can probably uber out there and ask someone for a ride back, but that would be slightly weird, but you never know, there are usually a bunch of people out there. Hell, if someone from out of town asked me, I would help them out.

Uber won't be cheap out there either. It is probably cheaper just to rent a car for a day.

It's only like, 14 miles from my hotel downtown. Shouldn't be too bad. Can't be in Austin and not check it out..

For an estimated $30-$40 each way I would rent a car. That way you can check out other breweries or go to some bottle shops along the way.

14 miles is quite a bit in uber terms.

Rental cars are cheap - probably cheaper if you rent from a downtown location than the airport just for one day.

I sorta have a rule against driving after I've had more than 1 beer.. So, I'm happy to pony up the dough for someone to drive me.
