CT Bev in Middletown got their case at 3:45. And they are ****** at $11.99 a single with a limit of 1. I guess if you are desperate head over, but I passed.

I wonder what the prices will be next year. If the demand keeps going up, then so will the prices. This is absolutely crazy.

What's really annoying is having to carry so much Founders product just so Holy Grails like KBS can be allocated to one lousy case per store.

I've seen nothing in SE CT; I'm hoping that we may just still be waiting. Only thing I've seen on the thread is A&P in Waterford, and I'm sure that's gone by now (and they never announced it, which is odd).

After the 50th (yes 50th) call I really started getting annoyed. Stores were allocated one lousy case. Really, folks, it's just beer. Do we have nothing else to do but chase Ltd Editions down? And, not for nothing, a little respect from your end would go a long way. Finally, would it kill you to just go into the store instead of calling half the state? Do you think you're the only one calling? Goes for Gandhi Bot and every ltd edition, too.
You guys know its coming before we do half the time.

Yeah, I've had to lie to about 35 people in the last two days. From my perspective, I've had to interrupt two very nice wine sales (where I make 35% GP) to answer calls about a ltd release mediocrity that I won't make squat on. You beeries love to posture as connosieurs but you always complain about price. From a retailer's end its a whole lot worse as we don't make squat off it. We carry because we like it, but these last few years, between the explosion of new releases and the rise of these "chase beers" it really dulled the fun.
I long for the days of just enjoying a good Oktoberfest...

And the best way to solve that would be...?

Never said I had an answer. just a simple observation. I guess the only solution would be to double the amojnt of KBS. Lets ask founders...

You are probably preaching to the wrong people. I have never called a store. i simply stop in and ask. if they dont have it, then I buy something else. I also dont stop in stores that I never buy stuff from. I only go to places where I have bought the regular stuff. Pretty rude for you to take your frustrations out on a random forum.

I actually work part-time at a store that didnt even get any and had to deal with people calling about it non-stop, so thanks for the suggestions on how to handle it. Plenty of respect here, I told people "No sorry we actually didnt get any in, but if you do come by I can show you what else we have that you might like."

Sorry that youre so upset about the situation that you had to create and account on here to complain about it. Go take it out somewhere else.

Sounds like it might be time for a career change if you're that upset? You do realize in your line of work without the customer you aren't getting a paycheck?

really dumb post. if you're not making any money off the shit, you don't have to carry it. if you carry it because you like it and don't care that it doesn't make money, what are you complaining about?

as for being upset that people call beer stores about limited releases: beer is popular. people want it. they call stores about it. do you post on forums about how you don't like when it rains too? traffic really get you down?

If you're in customer service you don't leave the live, breathing customer you're with to answer the phone.
Most of the calls you get in a liquor store are telemarketers or people asking how much your Coors Light, Seagrams 7, or Bota box costs. You're not making 35% on those.

I'm not a connoisseur, I can barely spell it. I like good beer.

Also people need to realize most people don't just spend out the ass for beer, so they might tend to focus their beer budgets on limited releases when they can. I would feel more rude walking into a store, asking for a certain beer, and walking out with nothing if they don't have it because I'm trying to hold myself to a budget than just giving a quick call.

The mercy buy, my feeling is if I go to a shoe store, and it don't lie any shoes I don't buy them...why buy beer if they don't have what you want. I was in a store asking for bcbs, was to dot was reserved for there regulars, I put both beers I had in my hand back and walked out.,,

Quick calls are ideal but the new thing is to lie, which is ok by me, let me visit my local stores, then have a guy from NY calling all over, and get all the KBS on I-95

Here's an idea; do your job.

If you don't want to deal with customers looked for "limited's", don't carry them.

No need to be an ass.

I may be in the minority, but I love KBS. Prefer it to BCBS, personally.
