I was talking to my gf today and she was like "you have gone out buy beer at least three time this week, how much are you spending?" Then it hit me, over the past month I know I've dropped about $300 easy on seasonal releases (sucaba, tired hands, etc...), beer events and happy hours. I'm glad make homebrew a lot so I only chance after limited releases mostly and not really buying cases of stuff weekly. I don't normally spend ~$300 in a month, maybe $100 (which includes homebrew ingredients) but I'm wondering how much do you guys allocate to your beer hobby/drinking in an average month.

I shoot for $50 a month but usually hit closer to $100.

Probably close to $100 on average. It's within my means saving up for a car and I get plenty of recent releases and old standbys mixed in.

I've done pretty good so far this year. I haven't bought nearly the amount of new releases as I have in the past and if I do buy anything new it's usually just one or two bottles, not a 6er.

Sounds like this girlfriend has what it takes to be a wife. Wait til you start finding creative ways of hiding empty bottles in the trash. When you do that, you'll be ready to become a husband.

I spend more on beer a month than gas, and I have a 40 minute commute. Plus I only drink about a beer a day.

Perhaps the fact I'm cracking $20 bottles 3 or 4 times a week is a little ridiculous yes. This is why I don't have savings.

I spend at least $200/month. The key to keeping my wife happy; she doesn't complain about my beer spending, I don't complain about her $200 purses or haircuts

I have a highly addictive behavior. Probably spent about $300 this week. I have a nice stash saved up for a month but knowing me, I'll go out and buy more

If you're an active member on this site odds are you spend too much $$$ on beer/brewing.

I've found that the trick is to actually bring her along and have her take part in the fun of trying and buying new brews. She may still roll her eyes when I come home with several "finds", but she kinda gets it now. Two heads are better than one.

So...no one spent $150 this week on beer? My excuse is that I'm recently three months cigarette free and I'm rewarding myself.

Last month I ended up with
4 cases of separate almanac sours (1 case this month already)
    1 case of cascade
    1 case of The Abyss
    1 case Sucaba
    plus random beers………

I don't feel great about it.

$100-350/month range depending on what I know is releasing, and what my local beer stores call me on with new product and surprise/empty my wallet! LOL! I need to get back to guitar collecting/building. At least they're worth something at the end of the day. Beer is my adult version of baseball cards to me. Completely worthless as time goes on.
