    Hello everyone,

I just joined the site, so I am looking forward to discussing all things beer with you all. With it being my home state, I wanted to ask fellow Michiganders/Yoopers or anyone else who enjoys Michigan brews as much as me, what's your favorite?

Founders and Bells are obviously the major players and I am a huge fan of what they put out, but there are so many other awesome breweries in our great state, I wanted to hear some other favorites from fellow beer enthusiasts.

    Cheers!

Lots of good choices but in terms of different releases, availability, quality, and overall awesomeness I would say Shorts as well

I like all 3 mentioned and also kuhnhenn which is a short drive for me. Kuhnhenn is fun to watch tigers games at & for the parties. Shorts is good for 6 packs every other week and bells & founders for great beers like hopslam breakfast stout, etc. There are a bunch of others worth trying too.

So many great breweries in Michigan. The beer festivals can really open your eyes to some of the breweries that arent as widely distributed, or distributed at all. Shorts, Bells, Founders, and Dark Horse are all great. But Kuhnhenn, Right Brain, Detroit Beer Co., Greenbush, Odd Side, Perrin, and countless others are all great breweries as well.

Short's is my favorite, and my up-and-coming brewery is Perrin with a close second place from Greenbush.

I've heard great things about Greenbush and I agree that Shorts is awesome. I heard Kuhnhenn had a lot of good brews as well, so I definitely need to check that out since it's so close. I do a lot of work in Traverse City and whenever I'm there I go to North Peak. Diabolical IPA on tap is great and their food is delicious, so I recommend it if you're in the area

Maybe not my fav, but had the pleasure of visiting Blackrocks in Marquette a couple months ago. every beer I had was really nice. def an under the radar up and coming brewery. they have started canning too so maybe it will make it down state soon.

Yeah Blackrocks is definitely an up and coming spot and same goes for Ore Dock. They are both starting to expand down state a bit.

I honestly cannot believe Shorts has been posted so many times as the best brewery. We can't be talking about their beer.
