Again, with the stereotypical comments. You think this forum is just full of lazy, hipster neckbeards living in their mother's basement? Do you really think that?

And yes, calling people lazy and indigent is worthy of the response I gave. All you did was come onto this forum and start insulting it's users with no intention of providing "education," which you claim to want to do.

And where did I claim to speak for anyone? All I said was there are plenty of people just like you that provide insight on the industry. You're not gracing us with some special presence like you think you are.

And btw, I'm clean shaved, 5'7" 150lbs, and make a fairly good living and live on my own. Some real amateur hour insults.

What really surprises me is how torqued you get by my posts. What does it even matter to you? Or is it so important that random, anonymous retailers must hold you in some high esteem?

you're obviously very bad at your job, and very stupid.

you work in customer service. customers want to know if you have the beer they want.

what the fuck do you think it's your job to do in that situation?

too good to answer the phone? don't answer it. too stupid to wait until you're done selling your wine in person and pick up the phone later? get smarter.

this problem is entirely yours. not founders, not your customers, etc. if you think founders is screwing you, don't buy from them. if you don't like your customers, tell them not to come to your store (this sounds like something you're stupid enough to do).

or, grow up and just answer the question and move on with your day instead of being a fucking baby.

p.s. i deal with much more annoying shit in IT, and i don't whine about it.

p.p.s. what store do you work for, by the by?

put your thinking cap on and consider why someone would be insulted when you enter a conversation with them and insult them.

You really are one smug S.O.B. You work in IT and don't whine about it? You are either the first IT person in history or a liar. You people bitch incessantly.
As to my job? You really have no idea what you're talking about. But then again you wile away your days on a beer forum hunting chase beers, so you're the real winner here.
Yes, the problem is entirely mine. Except for one minor detail: the lummoxes and '***** calling all day are NOT MY CUSTOMERS, you stupid gasbag.
As to where I work? You first.

yeah he's so self-conscious about liking beer. you told him.

being in IT i value anonymity :grinning:. but then again, i don't go onto forums and slag my own company / users / our clients, etc.

you're deluding yourself about chase beers. don't like someone who wants to buy your KBS? ...and it takes you more than 5 seconds to figure out how to deal with this? it builds up so much you need to start arguments online?

this striking failure of thought and maturity is why you're being belittled right now. it's why people want to know where you work so they can avoid it.

notably, it's NOT because they disagree with you about rewarding out of towners or something. it's because you're being an amazing dick about something that is clearly a non-issue. "people are showing TOO MUCH interest in my products! they need to LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Dude, you work at a beer/wine store. You will get inquiries regarding the availability of beer/wine. Don't know what else to tell ya

On another note, I just had a few nice glasses of KBS on tap at Cask Republic in New Haven. Where else has it been on tap in CT? I heard Birch Hill Tavern also had it.

Also, I think it is clear that @Jay_Pemberton has just succumbed to the natural human instinct of being annoyed by people who do not normally inconvenience him.

I'm not saying it's right to vent those frustrations on Beer Advocate, which I disagree with, but we certainly understand where he is coming from, right? If you don't, you certainly should take a step back and think about it. Find anyone in entry level retail who really enjoys Black Friday and then get back to me. It is most definitely his job to answer the phone kindly and answer the questions of potential customers but it is in no means his duty to sell certain products to each and every person that calls and asks. Whether he tells the truth or not is up to him and his business plan. Whether or not we all agree with the business plan is a moot point. Taking a list, selling to regulars only, first come first serve, someone will always be unhappy.

For example, I work at a bar that has had Fuzzy Baby Ducks on tap several times. Because of this, I get dozens of calls the weeks before and the weeks after about the availability of said beer. Instead of bitching about it on BA, I let every caller know that we always have some New England product on tap and let them know of comparable or otherwise awesome beers on tap. I see how I could let myself be annoyed by these phone calls, but I see it in another light as people who are excited about craft beer and an opportunity to encourage their interest! Sometimes I get great responses and see those people sitting at the bar later in the day (which has yielded some awesome beer convo and great regulars to my bar) and other times I get uninterested responses thanking me for the info. Either way, I did the best I could.

As a person who is fully aware of how many calls any given package store is receiving about KBS and how often they deal with those calls, I also did make some of those calls in hopes of landing a few bottles. That being said, I tried not to call places I've never been to and opted to stop by and show my face to these people either way.

Let's get back to the basics and realize that craft beer is not just about the .rar beers and instead about an awesome community sharing awesome products.

    Cheers

I was going to go on a long rant, but thought better of it. Everyone that has a job has an aspect of that job that sucks. Get over it, especially if it has to do with awesome beer. That is all.

    Figured I would post results:
We both ended up liking the bcbcs the best. We both preferred the kbs with a year on it. However the kbs was aged 45 degrees, which likely slowed down the aging process. The older kbs was smoother and slightly sweeter. Bcbcs was extremely unique as expected.

By his own words, Jay_Pemberton is a troll. He's just trying to rile everyone up, and quite frankly he's doing a good job. If you take a step back, the dude is actually kinda hilarious. If you think anyone is like that in real life, he really has you fooled.

Thank you for the Saturday morning entertainment Jay_Pemberton!
