Came back from Asheville today and I didn't see it there.

Went searching for KBS at Total Wine in GSO, came out with 2 bottles of KBS but also a bottle of Black Note which I did not even know was going to be there. Had it tonight, very delicious and seemed like a more tame version of BCBS-- less boozy and overall just beautiful.

 

Walked into a bottle shop recently just to hear some very bad news. Bell's (apparently) will not distribute any BNS to Illinois. The Bell's rep says that Chicago is a "black hole" when it comes to craft beer (due to truck chasers). Bell's recognizes these assholes & it looks like they will refuse to ship to areas with such people.

So, if this is true. I want to say a big thank you (with a huge middle finger) to those who chase distro trucks from store to store. Thanks for ruining this for everyone.

 

That is a shame, if it is true. True or not I agree with you for giving the middle finger to the distro truck chasers. I would also like to give a big middle finger times two to those distro truck chasers in Il.

Is it BBN all together or just the bottles? If I can get one from tap I will be more than satisfied.

 

Funny, if it were true, I would give a huge middle finger to both the truck chasers and Larry Bell. I look forward to many Bells beers. I would say I buy more of his beers than any other brewery. But not distributing his most sought after beer to his biggest market because there is too much demand for it makes no sense. Why piss off your biggest supporters?

I'm nowhere near being a truck chaser, but I've been able to get every beer I've wanted in the last year without much trouble or waiting in lines. It's really not that difficult.

I haven't seen any in the stores I frequent in NYC/BK but I also haven't been seeking it out too hard.

 

This is not true, its coming to Chicago but in limited quantities. If it is viewed as a black hole, looks like they get over it pretty quickly, with distro of KBS, Abyss,Parabola, Sucaba, Mirror Mirror, and heck even Surly made a special batch of Darkness just for Chicago, it doesnt seem like breweries mind the Chicago market too much...

 

While I wouldn't necessarily rule this out entirely, I'd say the chances of this being true are infinitesimally small.
