You did not grasp my point. Possibly my fault. Even if Bud is the perfect example of an American adjunct lager, that does not make it a well-made lager in my world.

TO ME there is always a better option. If you like hot pockets, great. I'd rather have a scratch made kolache.

There are plenty of lighter, highly quaffable beers that are craft and not awful; Kolsch, Czech and Vienna Pilseners, and many other styles of beer still fit into "good on a hot day" without using subpar ingredients or mass-scale processes that produce an inferior product. Just because I enjoy hop bombs and barrel aged imperial stouts does not mean I can't appreciate the lighter, more delicate side of beer as well.

If you want to point the finger at craft for being the 'rich kid' poking at the kid in second run clothes, you can usually find some inexpensive yet still locally-produced, quality options if you care to look.

The difference is not that drinkers of low quality beer are drinking more "to the season" than I, nor that they are stuck to a lower budget, but that they have not bothered to educate themselves on what they are drinking, and probably don't care to. That doesn't make you a bad person, it just means you drink shitty beer; don't pretend your beer isn't shitty just because you don't care that it is.

Well crap, it took me a while to crawl down off of my big ol' horse, but now that I've made it, I'll just say I'll buy Bud for friends if they want it, buy SNPA, NoDa Hop Drop'n Roll, Lil Sumpin or Lagunitas IPA for the house and just not worry at all about what anybody anywhere else bothers to drink or not to drink. That folks find excellent beer and appreciate it is enough to satisfy me. Not too long ago choices were grim and now the beer world is bright. I know people that know and appreciate "beer" the second that I meet them. Attitude is everything, and having one (attitude) about what one deems to be shitty beer is always a bad sign.

I like Max's because it's only a 20 minute drive. Plus they have a crew that knows how to clean tap lines. I have no complaints. You would have to stay in my basement though while they have the takeovers! Just saying...:stuck_out_tongue:

Did you ever have a "needledick beer dweeb" call you out for drinking Dos Equis? Or are you just being preemptively confrontational over some perceived threat that you have of some slight from these beer dweebs against your beer of choice?

whatever. to each their own. I don't care what other people drink, nor do I judge them... but I never drank a BMC (because it smells hideous IMO), and never will. I also expect no one to criticize me or call me an elitist merely because I don't like something they do....

    live and let live....

I guzzled a few Keystone Lights right from the can a few weeks back eating wings a Hooters. And guess what, I enjoyed them just fine with wings, more than a Coke or water or ice tea. Now tomorrow night, I plan to sit down to a sharing some KBS with friends tomorrow night. All beer can be enjoyed if it tastes ok to you. That's all that matters.

You can only be cool on this site now if you defend BMC. Some of us truly hate BMC beers... is there really anything wrong with that? I'm not out beating people for drinking a Bud 55, nor am I seeking them out and ridiculing them. For me personally, "every beer has its place" does not apply. For instance... Heineken will never have a place with me. Guess I'm a snob now.

The only time people expressing their opinion about beer annoys me is when they accuse people who disagree with them of pretending to like what they like for some ulterior motive. Whether it's "You only like mainstream beer because you're a sheep to the marketing" or "You only like craft beer to sound cool!" it's equally obnoxious.

Pardon my French, but I don't give two fucks (not even one fuck) about what other people drink. If you want to drink Coors light all day, everyday, then by all means. Drink what you please. I just honestly have never understood the judgmental stance when it comes to beer drinking. I'll be the first to admit that 99% of BMC offerings sicken me. I don't like the look, scent, or taste of them. I'll never in my life spend a dime on them again, nor will I drink one if it's offered to me for free. A lot of my friends and family drink BMC, and I bust their chops on occasion just for laughs, but I'll never legitimately judge them for drinking it. Why? Because it has ABSOLUTELY ZERO bearing on my life. I don't lie awake at night because my romantic interest drinks Miller Lite. I don't find myself slacking at work because I'm caught up on the fact that my best friend praises PBR as the greatest alcoholic beverage to grace the planet. None of this has ANY effect on me, nor should it have any effect on anyone. Taste is subjective. Opinions are like assholes; everyone has one. If you're literally sticking your nose up at anyone who doesn't share the same palate as you, you need to set down your can of Heady, walk into another room and reevaluate your priorities in life. It's beer. It's not that fucking serious.

There are more people that don't drink craft exclusively than do. If this is a newsflash you aren't paying attention. If everyone having an opinion is a shock, you may want to find another planet to live on.

or i could just chalk it up to internet ******ation... bothering to only read half of what is typed/written, then prematurely judging others for the wrong reasons just like you are doing. i said plain as day, quote, "No, the only thing that offended me, wasn't that people like this guy can enjoy a Coors... but he felt the need to label us all as snobs or elitists." People get worked up into a tizzy about what others drink, but to be labeled and condescended is not fun for anyone. You're too cool for cats if nothing bothers you. But please, let's stop pretending this thread is about what others drink.

Good point. I never understood the appeal of a "summer" beer in that sense because I live in Seattle, lol. Its rare that the temperature outside merits that. But it makes sense it being explained.
