So yea, I succumbed to the hype and gave it a try on a neutral palette -hell I hadn't had beer in a week. Bitterness upfront but taste immediately disappears to neutral half way through IMO. Like it's missing some parts... anyone else disappointed with this one? Probably won't buy it again....

I've found that this one falls off really quickly and gets pretty sweet/malty. Fresh it's great though. They should really consider dating their cans, Ive come across a few 6 packs stashed in liquor stores that are way past their prime.

The first time I had it, I didn't know that it was this mega-hyped beer. Someone had picked up a few cans after the store's beer buyer excitedly told him that he'd just gotten it in. I had a can, and while I thought it was certainly a good beer, I didn't like it enough to buy it the next time I saw it in stock.

It wasn't until months later that I saw people clamoring about it, and I just don't understand why. You're not alone.

There's a store where Ghandi Bot can get old on the shelf?

Gandhi not doesn't come in 6 packs, so if you found a six pack , was it 16oz cans, then it may have been really old!!!!!!

I prefer it on draft, but in cans, I highly doubt it was old, it doesn't stay on shelves more than a day..

But nebco should still date cans..

The problem is it's too readily available. You can find it at a store, you don't have to stand on your head I'm the snow on the third Saturday of the month in the middle of nowhere or get it. That totally effects the taste.

They are from NY, the state that brought us "Growing Up Gotti". Talk about good taste.

Is this accurate? Based on the threads I've seen about searching for Gandhi Bot it sounded like it was harder to get a hold of than Heady is here in VT. I thought it was a random right place right time kinda thing. Thats awesome if it is easy to find, I'm just surprised to hear that.

FWIW the two times I've gotten GB I thought it was great.

Perhaps, its happened before. I thought the sarcasm was just in reference to the Alchemist releases and that their limited nature made them more extra delicious. Cuz if GB is a tough to find as I've heard, it should taste just as (if not more) rare than HT.

I find the opposite to be true. When you discover and try something for the first time and love it, it's amazing. Whenever I try something that is supposed to be great, it tends to be a big letdown.

Can't be any more overrated then Sculpin. Now that was/ is disappointing.

Well it isn't like I was looking for something good, I was looking for an example of bad taste. I think it is suitable.

One of the best DIPAs around, the nose on this absolutely blows me away and taste doesn't disapoint at all.

I thought the last batch around here was not up to it's usual perfection as well.
