Given my choice between ten fidy, fis, sk, and yeti I would pik ten fidy. I love all these beers and they are all great. IMO it's splitting hairs trying to pick a fave. But if I had to I'd go ten fidy. My real two faves are fbs and speedway. Love those coffee stouts.

I actually thought that FBS tastes a lot like their porter. Same artificial coffee taste with a rough chocolate taste.

    FIS > FBS>=porter

Was very disappointed in both the porter and breakfast stout. However, Imperial stout was delicious.

Same family of beers. Way more viscous though. Both are divine.

I'm a DIPA/IPA guy and this was the first stout I gave a shot to. I was not disappointed.

Very easy to get, there are still at least 4 cases sitting at my go to place. I'll probably grab some to age.

Their Porter and Imperial Stout are not even close in taste and body.

No rush. I was at the beer store a couple days ago and walked past a chest-high stack of FIS. I was reminded that with one thing and another I hadn't got around to getting any of that this year, and picked up a 4-pack. Enjoyed a bottle and thought I'd check the date, expecting to see like 12/xx/13, and it was bottled 4/5/14. They must have made a shipload to still be bottling it in April, it should be around for a while.

And of course, there's no rush to drink it either. In fact, I rarely drink it fresh. Every year I drink the FIS I bought the previous winter and buy the FIS I plan to drink the next winter.

[QUOE="Jwhere, post: 2316266, member: 784855"]I've been seeing FIS on the shelves here, tempted to buy it and let it age. My only reservation is that I LOVE FBS, and am thinking I'd be better off just rocking that out again in the fall... What a dilemma[/QUOTE]
The Imperial stout is WAY better imho

FIS and Ten Fidy to me are both a pretty good step above other seasonal stouts (Brooklyn Chocolate Stout, Stone IRS, Old Rasputin, etc)

To me they're both have a better mouthfeel and just that special something.

I would agree it's the best beer they make, people take it very personally when you don't fawn over KBS. To me it's a few steps below BCBS and BCBCS. I also hate how people say you can compare beers. If KBS is a coffee bourbon beer, guess what it gets compared with BCBCS. It's not my fault it's thinner and less flavorful, not to mention more expensive and harder to find. I get the feeling some feel like you're messing with a sacred cow or that a beer is beyond reproach.

People who are saying it's easy to get: really?

The stuff is ridiculously hard to find in NOVA.

A shame, because it's my favorite RIS on the market.

Hard to find FIS? It's still readily available in the Midwest. I look forward to having some this fall

Alexandria. There was ONE bottle at the TW there when I went.

Maybe I should start looking in Fairfax instead... :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah check Norm's and the Whole Foods in Vienna, Whole Foods Fairfax and Total Wine Chantilly. I can't remember exactly where it is and isn't but those are the stores I shop at and I know it has not been scarce.
