[IMG] New Belgium Lips of Faith La Folie. This is so good! Tart, but with an underlying syrupy sweetness.

Downed a few Heavy Seas Über Pilses while watching Dortmund-Madrid (great game, but sad to see Dortmund eliminated). The beer's listed here as an imperial Pils, and although that's what the name implies, too, it's nothing like most others in this style; namely, no American hops. Blindfolded, I'd have pegged this as a helles Bock, but I'm very pleased with it in any case.

Feels good to relax in an air-conditioned room (It was 90 degrees today) with a beer. First time trying this beer and I am in love:

Prima Pils. Satisfies like few pilsners can. Deliciously bitter. I give props where props is due and do enjoy Pilsner Urquell, the original pils, but in my opinion, Prima is standard upon which all other pilsners are measured now.

Very nice DIPA. Juicy grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, orange peel/rind and pine with a fair amount of caramel, biscuit, light toffee maltiness. Sizable pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Aromas were more balanced towards the malt side; taste was extremely crisp, sticky, and smooth for 10%. A bit of light cloying pine resin bitterness after the finish, but it wasnt acrid.

Spectacular. Tons of sour cherry, cranberry, green apple, lemon zest, red wine vinegar, leather, oak, clove, pepper, musty funk, hay, straw, grass, and a bit of toast/bourbon. Layers upon layers of complex notes, all very well blended together. This is just, wow. Acidic balance is so smooth.

First for me and totally worth it, a bit boozy but @ 11% it's masked pretty well. Has a similar flavor to heady in my opinion.

Normally get inspired and try to take an "artsy" photo but phone died. No less, I am enjoying a can of Pizza Port Swami's IPA to cool off from a heat wave here in San Diego.

    Cheers!
