This is directly from Shock Top's twitter page:

"If you can ferment it, or throw it in a kettle, we've probably brewed it."

I guess my only questions would be, why are you following Shocktop on Twitter.

Unfortunately, AB-Inbev pays Twitter to promote Shock Top's tweets - so they show up on my feed even if I'm not following them.

Why do you doubt it? They have a 10 bbl. pilot system, and given ABs financial resources, I'd imagine they do many test batches of a great variety of beer styles before they decide to commercially release one. That's probably preferable to the slapdash "craft" technique, on display in DFH's Brew Masters TV show, where they released beer that they had not even tasted, IIRC. (Granted, what the AB execs decide to release is probably not what I would buy).

Shock Top brewer is always thinking about new beers

You didn't hear? Shocktop is coming out with an Eisbock and a Faro next month. Unfortunately, the Roggenbier wasn't ready for the variety pack release.

How is it that everybody is coming to Shock Top's defense despite the ridiculousness of this claim?

"If you can ferment it, or throw it in a kettle..."
    So potatoes?
    gatorade?
    ketchup?
    Nyquil?
    legos?
    turkey sandwiches?
    dirty socks?

    they've brewed pruno?
    purple drank?

The claim is ridiculous, and I'm not sure any brewer should be making such a statement, let alone Shock Top, which cannot claim the entire body of AB-Inbev's work for itself.

But this is all in good fun. I just had to point out that Shock Top's tweet amounts to claiming that they HAVE tried all of the above... and that might account for why their beers taste the way they do...

Consider the audience as well, probably not that hard to blow the mind of the average Shocktop drinker ( there are worse options around here )

Even if he was, what's the big deal? If he likes Shock Top, so be it. Drink what you like. I just don't get why people have to bring down others who drink certain beers, whether it be Shock Top or not.

    Exactly.

I'm no fan of ST. But going out of your way to create a hate thread is pretty juvenile. Especially when you have no way to prove or disprove this claim.

That said, I'm going to make an assumption that Jill knows what she's doing and it's likely she's experimented a lot.

I bet some of the stuff they mess around with is pretty awesome, and that's what they drink themselves. Then they brew something that the masses, which is not most of us, enjoy.

If you interpret every statement on the internet as literal as you do Shock Top's, you must spend every minute of your life outraged and bewildered.

Haha, no worries. It was a pretty funny call-out

Not outraged or bewildered - just pleasantly amused. I especially love the use of the word "literally" among teenage girls who all too often "literally can't" or are "literally dying." Then again, I guess we're all "literally dying" all the time, aren't we?

Thats all good and all but if there isnt 1 good beer among any of them than it doesnt really matter. the kitchen sink mentality is what brings down down brewers from making something good.

I would take one 1 fantastic beer over hundreds of mediocre ones
