KBS and/or Black Note In Florida

Well...except for that thousand+ page thread of people bragging about their hauls...

 

I really hope we get some Black Note down south. Bells makes some solid beer. Hell, they even sent me a couple free pint glasses and coasters when I e-mailed them about old beer on the shelf.

 

yea but the "post your latest haul" is general...i think people get a little upset when there is a thread about XXX beer, with a very low bottle limit, and someone posts a pic of triple the limit or something along that line.

 

i don't want to come off as a dick, but i refuse to bring myself down to someone else's level simply because they may "beat me to the punch".

maybe some dude does swoop in after me and buys the rest. but hopefully he won't, and a few more guys get to try something cool and/or rare. i can't speak for anyone else, but i won't sell my conscience short just to make sure i'm the one doing the dicking over.

i've found that in other hobbies (i'm an avid cigar smoker), that generosity and thoughtfulness towards your fellow man tends to rub off, so i'll do the same in the beer world. maybe it's naive, but i sleep better at night, and still have all the beer i want/need.

I find this attitude tends to be more prevalent among beer people who have 2 or 3 years under the belt (at which point they, quite literally, calm down about kbs and similar beers).

As for ryman its now abundently clear that hes both a) not willing to do that and b) just outright lying about several things. Unfortunately this is exactly the kind of behavior that makes people wait in lines for hours with mules instead of just getting their limit and moving on and supporting the community rather than pushing it towards being a competitive road race to chase the truck all over town.

 

You do realize, not posting the pics doesn't make you any better. Sort of like when you had almost two cases of life is like muled for you a couple months back. You may not have bragged in "my latest hauls", but don't be hypocrite when it comes to buying well more than your fair share...but your not the one complaining right?

 

I'm not suggesting that by not posting here it somehow absolves one of being a douchenugget. What I'm saying is only any idiot goes and cleans out a store of something that is limited release and then comes here bragging about it, expecting it to end well.

Just got home. Stopped by the store on my way back. My guy came through with a four pack. Thanks again for the offer but I'm good to go.

 

He kept his word. Got a four pack. As far as it's quality, I'll soon find out. I do put KBS right up there with BCBS. I had one bottle of 2012 KBS left and drank it about a month ago, it was unbelievable good.

Oops! Forgot to say which brew. This is/was KBS... not in bomber form, lol. I first heard it was $9 a bottle but I guess they dropped the price. I was told that they had a keg but it was too expensive and sent it back.

 

2 cases? you have your information wrong. yes my friend got me some bottles, and i kept a couple of those original bottles. I sold some to my buddies that could not get one, and i also sent some of them out in my beer group to guys that could not get it. i kept so little of the bottles i received i actaully traded @Skrypt for a bottle at huna day because i loved it so much.

and no, i am not complaining about missing out on bottles of kbs or any other beers i cannot attain. i traded for some kbs and am happy about to be able to try it, but was not going to make a big deal about missing out on that, black note or really any other beer that comes out.

I was thinking the same thing. HJFS is doing a Founder's day so I think they'll try to break even or gain from their keg order. If WOB were to keep their KBS, that bad boy would probably sit forever.

 

True. Saw about 2 weeks ago mellow mushroom still had BCBS on tap.

 

Which amazes me. I guess that's both a good and bad thing for us.
