if you asked me to name my favorite brewery i just would't know how to respond, there are just too many great beers made by to many different breweries, but if you assigned point values based on taste, price, accessibility, variety and above all, consistency, then on paper i think victory would win. hop devil, dirt wolf, and hop ranch are in my top 20 beers and i've tried several more that i've loved, several more then i've liked, and zero that i've hated. (wasn't golden monkey's biggest fan) and the prices are great! agree or disagree? and which victory beer do you like best. looking forward to feedback

Victory is great. They do so many styles really well.

Their highs aren't the highest but their lows are pretty high.

Your lack of capitalization annoys me, but their beers are mighty fine. I feel like their IPA's came out of nowhere. The only Victory I used to drink was Prima Pils.

Just polished off a White Monkey, and have to say I could see the base beer is so so. Love to see more from them, or the next time I happen to be in PA. I have so many "newer" micros in CO that they all have highs & lows.

Victory is definitely towards the top for me, but I'm biased. Victory is about an hour away from me and, aside from questionable shit like Blue Moon, they were the first step for me getting into craft beer and I still drink them religiously. Honestly, there's never a point in time where there ISN'T HopDevil in my fridge these days. It's too delicious and affordable for me to pass up on it.

As for them being the best brewery around....... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I don't think I can stand behind you there, but you're definitely entitled to your own opinion. Just know that you're going to catch A LOT of shit for making that statement. Some of the people here get a little... serious about their beer.

They're a top-5 brewery for me (kinda obvious), but I also really appreciate lagers and German styles.

It upsets me that they seem to be abandoning some of that approach, but it also makes me happy that their DIPAs have been so on the mark lately.

Meanwhile Troegs has really embraced their lagers lately and have closed the gap considerably, IMO.

IMO, Victory is my #2 favorite behind Sierra Nevada. What good is a brewery if I have to give an old fashioned in a seedy bathroom just to grab a hold of a bottle?

well maybe if they raised there prices then they might get some more love from the real beer geeks. ( not that i don't consider myself a beer geek too.)

I don't think Troegs can hold a candle to Victory. Outside of Nugget Nectar and Sunshine Pils, I think their lineup is average at best. Perpetual is nothing special, Hopback is average, Troegenator is just not for me, Mad Elf is pretty bad imo, etc. I love Nugget Nectar and have a case of Sunshine in my car right now but I don't think they are anything special.

Oh well. Build a bridge and get over it. It's only beer and one mans opinion. Not the end of the world.

I caught a ton of shit for drinking a Stone IPA from the bottle... imagine how much shit this guy's gonna catch for calling Victory the best brewery around. LOL.

It's not a big deal for me; everyone has their opinions. It's just a known fact that some people here haven't quite learned how to grasp that concept yet.

I really enjoy lagers, and although this is a pretty hoppy pils, it is still delicious.

OK, twist my arm. In descending order:

Great: Hop Ranch (one of my top 5 IPAs), Wild Devil, Golden Monkey, Dirt Wolf, Prima Pils, Old Horizontal, Storm King
Good: Hop Devil, Dark Intrigue, Hop Wallop, Helios
Okay: Headwaters, Oak Horizontal, V-Twelve, Swing Session Saison, Otto
Not Good: Victory Village Coffee, White Monkey

Best brewery around? No. But they're at least in the Top 20 IMO

That wasn't directed at you personally. It was at anyone who gives someone shit over the fact that they favor a different brewery then they do. Seems pretty petty to me.
