This was my taste test. The best two coffee stouts I had in the cellar decides to go head to head tonight. In hindsight I wish I had FBS to put next to them as well.

BCBS blew the doors off Brunch Weasel in my mind. Luckily I have more of each socked away. Are there others I should side by side with these two?

If you can get Peche Mortel, do it. You won't be disappointed.

Big Bad Baptist is pretty easy to get your hands on, and I think its a great Coffee beer.

Now I don't mean to kill the fun here by being particular... But BCBCS is a Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee Stout where the others will just be Coffee Stouts. So to compare them, of course BCBCS is going to blow them all away. The best thing to do may be to find other BBA coffee stouts. Can't think of many actually! (Spoiler... You will find nothing to compare to BCBCS...)

Edit: I actually find this year's KBS to probably be the closest to BCBCS.

Big Bad Baptist is bourbon aged. I'd agree with your point though. BBA coffee stouts are hard to find, At least where I live. I would think it'd be really tough to find many that compare to BCBCS. Also, is it weird that I don't get much coffee from the KBS variants I've had?

Very true! I just think Breakfast Stout and BCBCS are wonderful beer on their own, but to compare them will only leave FBS needlessly in the dust because of difference in style. BBBaptist is a great comparison, but I also feel BCBCS comes out on top of this. Not by a huge margin, but yet on top in the long run.

O.P. I may have to, personally, do a side by side with BCBCS and KBS. Think that would be a great comparison this year!

do whatever you must, make arrangements, set aside life goals, and try to get your hands on MorningWood stout by Oddside ales.its not high on ABV but it has one of the best tastes you will find in this style. its a bourbon coffee stout. Top 5 IMO.

Perennial Sump is far and away the best coffee stout I've ever had, that beer is stout perfection. Others that fall in the upper echelon; Peruvian Morning, BASS, BCBCS, BOMB!, and Coffee Truffle Abduction. On the other hand, Vietnamese Speedway and KBS were huge letdowns.

    santa fe-java imperial stout
    FBS
ballast point-victory at sea(although it is an imperal porter)...

I don't really think anything is comparable to BCBCS. I've had my fair share of BA and non-BA coffee stouts, and none are even in the same area code as BCBCS. Comparisons to KBS are laughable. I await Mocha Wednesday, but I honestly think that will be the only thing able to dethrone BCBCS due to both having ridiculous ABVs.
