What beer are you drinking now? #538

This was interesting! Not quite as tasty as, say, BCBS, but definitely extremely complex and inviting.

 

A pretty solid NW IPA - fruity, citrusy with a solid malt backbone and a nice hop punch. If only they could get the good sense to put the bottled-on dates on these bottles.....

 

it's friday, it's almost 5 o' clock, it's weekend !

 

Going from Flagstaff back to ABQ today - I'm way behind on likes because I'm tired and half the time I have trouble connecting to the hotel internet. Anyway, here's today's breakfast, to be followed by a Shiner White Wing:

 

When you have KBS in your coffee cup you know its going to be a great day. Cheers!

Thought I would try out this New Belgium seasonal jammer.

 

Damn this is good. They weren't kidding about fresh squeezed. The citrus notes are fantastic.

 

Drinking a Lancaster Kolsch that I got on sale for $25 a case solid beer.

 

If I had a smartphone I would have posted, last night, that I was drinking a draft KBS.

I am currently destroyed by the final few weeks of grad school, a masters thesis, internship stress, pondering a terrifying job offer, girlfriend wanting a house, and a million other life things, and swung by the bar to take a look at the tap list so I'd have something nice to look forward to when class was over. Beer-related mindfulness for stress relief, ya know?

Anyways, KBS was on there and I was baffled. They said they had probably 2 or 3 left, and I knew that with the way things have been going, I'd show up and it would be gone.

Ditched out of class and burned over on my bike. Got what might have been the last one. 7 oz. pour. It was glorious. Definitely different than I expected, with less coffee and even a bit less bourbon than I was imagining. Vanilla is what really jumped out at me. Especially as it warmed. I'm interested to compare it to a bottle I have at home. I understand why people say it doesn't compare to the BCBS (and I haven't even had my BCBCS yet) but it really was delicious, and was so needed.

 

My last bottle of this one. Tasty, easy drinking IPA.

Good on you getting the KBS. I can't get the image of you rushing over there on your bike with the Wicked Witch music playing from Wizard of OZ, I'm laughing so hard.
