The bottle room in Whittier was serving Nelson for 5 bucks (happy hour prices). Great establishment with lots of selection.

Wow, such a great attitude for a business!

    Yep.

Just moved to Orange County for the NW and will not be going to Out of the Park with that kind of shitty, opportunistic way of treating the folks that keep them in business.

wow. Crossing out of the park pizza of my next trip.

I don't mind high prices. Just say you have a lot of costs (overhead, rent, nice TVs, etc), and need to charge a premium, and I can live with that. Be douches to you customers and it effects future customers.

You know, it is funny. This is entirely slipping away from Out of the Park Pizza, and the douchebag that showed up earlier to call many people liars is nowhere to be seen.

I don't know how the LA/OC folk roll, but in San Diego that would change your reputation permanently, especially if you are just an eatery/bar.

I did talk with my bartender and all morning she was pouring 12oz tulip glasses. She ran out of glassware and poured yours in a pint glass. But Saying you paid $15 for a pint when you clearly just got a short pour and posting that I'm ripping people off is wrong. You could have just said something to the bartender or just said something to me and I could have fixed this in a second. But instead you decide to blast my business and try to hurt us. I take that personally because I work very hard to provide good beer and good food at a good price. So I'll leave it at this... I apologize you got a short pour

I think you really need to work on your online social media bedside manner. Cause, like, yeah.... you really just alienated a lot of people with this wave of lashing back at criticism.

12 ounces in one of those tulips should be about 3/8" from the top of the glass. 12 ounces in a shaker glass should be about 7/8" from the top. Just saying...

$8 for 12oz pour (proper pour) at Brix last Friday. But Rich is a tad bit higher than Beachwood BBQ and some other establishments in the LA/OC area. Don't know why. Maybe because Sunset Beach is high in rent? But he still offers 2 bucks off all drafts during happy hour. And a killer pastrami sandwich. So I guess it's all good. Oh yeah, no happy hour on Fridays.
I haven't been to Out of da Park yet. And maybe after reading this thread I more than likely wont go check it out. I heard it's not far from Bottle Logic? I do know the pizza I had (during one of Bootleggers KS releases-back in the day when it was really good at the old tasting room) was pretty good. Did Hollingshead have Nelson on tap yet? And if so how much were they charging for a glass?

Other places were charging $7.50 for a 6oz, much fairer. Anywhere that price gouges makes me never return to that location ever again and I tell everyone I know to stay away as well. Example, OOTP, You are nothing without your customers. You disrespect them with the way you speak, they will not return and tell everyone to not come back. Watch your words and control the 'tude'

My take on all this is that the bartender was questioned and said to the customers they were doing 8oz pours to the whole bar whether it was in a tulip or shaker pint (so that's probably less than 7oz) That's different than an accidental short pour. The poster said that was the equivalent of a $15 pint, which is TRUE. I don't know that poster personally, but based on those facts plus pictures from 2 different places, I believe them.

As I mentioned previously, if you want to charge those prices, that's fine. I'd probably still spend $$ at your place if it was a good spot with good employees/owners. What's no fine with me and appearantly many others, is the douchebag responses to your customers on Facebook and here.

I'm not local but travel to the area a lot. Heard good things about your beer selection and pizza and was looking forward to going there next time, but I guess I'll be skipping now.

Exactly. It'd be incredibly damaging, actually. I wonder what'll happen to them, because that's seriously such a shitty attitude.

Then one of you is lying, most likely you. She was not only pouring 8 ounces for everyone, she was telling people 8 ounces was all she could do. I got half a pint glass, my friend got a half pint glass and most everyone in the bar was getting half pint glasses, though some got short filled tulips ... see the end of this post.

$7.50 for 8 ounces is $15.00 per pint, and you were ripping people off.

I did say something to your bartender. So did my friend. So did at least five or six other people in the short time we were sitting at the bar. She told everyone they were only doing 8 ounce pours. So many people were questioning the pour that she started telling people in advance that it was only 8 ounces.

I am not trying to hurt your business; You hurt your own business out of greed. All I did was call you out on it. If you had not called me a liar I would have left it at the one post.

Just for the record, had you actually been doing 12 ounce pours for $7.50 I would have called you out just the same.

Since you confirmed your tulips are 12 ounces, how much do you think this guy got? He posted that pic to Untappd right around the same time I was there, LOL. Looks like 8 ounces to me.
