Jack's Abby in CT?

Well, they've begun an expansion into the space next to their current brewing space. So, perhaps with their expansion they plan/hope to distribute into another NE state or two? If so, making some preliminary appearances in those states makes sense. Just speculating, though. Maybe they'll chime in here.

 

The guys at jacks and the guys at olde burnside are friends. That's why they were at the beer fest.

 

Until our expansion is complete and we can assess where we stand, we are not making any plans to distribute out of state. It is certainly something we would love to do, but will not consider it until we are confident doing so will not affect our ability to supply our home market. So while we are getting closer, there is still no time-frame to adding a new market.

As to the Burnside Beer Fest, if you didn't know, there is a Burnside Ice Company related to the brewery. If you have read our Leisure Time Lager label, it mentions the fact that our grandfather started an ice company in New York that our father/uncle eventually took-over, and my brother and I worked at since we were old enough to lift a bag of ice. Our families have known each other going back 3 generations, so we were excited to finally be able to send some beer.

 

Yeah,I sent JA a beer mail here a few months back asking about distro. to CT.

Pretty much gave me the same answer as they gave you here....lol.

No JA to CT until NEBCO comes back to MA

 

Rob told me last week they are hopeful to do so. Just don't have the capacity, but they are planning an expansion and MA would be the first return stop.

 

Some local social media beer dude just posted on FB that JA signed a deal with the Craft Beer Guild to distribute to CT. Said drafts in May and bottles in June. Tried researching this, could not corroborate... any one else hear this?

Probably saw the same report as you from CTBeerPope on Twitter? Said G&G Bev. will distribute in Fairfield/New Haven, and Craft Beer Guild does the rest of the state. Same time frame too for retail/draft.

Jack's Abby is usually pretty good about sharing news when they have it -- and particularly on this forum -- so whether it's true or false, I doubt it will be very long before we get a solid confirmation/denial here. Coming on the heels of their awards at the World Beer Cup, more great news for them if true (and even better news for CT beer drinkers, like my brother).

 

I can promise you that as soon as we sign something we will announce it immediately. There is not point in denying at this point that we have been talking to several distributors in CT with the hope of a summer release, but nothing is finalized, let alone signed.

No they didn't pull outta MA. JUST to distro. to NY.

Remakable Liquids visited NEBCo. at some point and really impressed.FWIW,NEBCo. is only in a small part of NY.,sending small shipments here and there.

To be honest,I don't think the fine gents. @ the brewery have EVER pulled off a dick move.Just not their style.
