Upcoming KBS tappings in Austin

BB Rovers has been getting good stuff lately. I assume you were not talking about Wright Bro's there either.

As for Mean Eyed Cat? Yeah, that one is surprising to say the least.

 

Yeah, mean eyed cat was my first exposure to The Band in Black, and Fancy lawnmower, which at that time was by far the best beer they had on the menu.

I like BB rovers but kbs? Yeah i was a bit taken aback. Last i went in there, kilkennys was the best tap offering, although their bottles have been outstanding since ive been there. (at least the amount of different ones)

So not as suprising as mec but def a bit of a wha? moment for me lol

and never been to wright bros so yeah left them off the equation

 

So happens this Arid Zoner will be in Austin on Thursday the 1st.....perhaps KBS is in my future.

It is not really a craft beer bar but a bar that you drink to get drunk at and listen to music. They have craft beer on tap, but it is by no means a destination bar for beer.

But, it is close to downtown for you tourists, and across the street from Whole Foods which has a good bottle selection.

 

We tourists will be staying south of the river but since we're coming for super square dorky tourist music:

Seriously though thanks. I'm just trying to keep on top of the zillions of Austin threads here so I don't ask too many annoying questions. I actually think KBS is super overrated but since we don't get it here i'd stop in somewhere for one of it wasn't too far.

 

Can't blame you. I like the beer but I am not sure if it is worth the trouble of me going to a crowded bar to get a glass of it. I will let all the others who have to have all the big name things go for it.

I do have two bottles of it at home, so that may factor into why I am not gonna go as well.

 

I may end up at the BB rovers

just because i get paid friday and i only have 1 bottle left and never had it on draught and theyll have the porter which i love almost as much as fbs.

 

Mmmm I will be in Austin on the 18th at Jester King but now should I make the girlfriend stop at BB Rovers too?

 

I do agree about the ABG parties. I used to talk to you back when you were at Craft Pride a while back. But, I work nights now and wouldn't likely be able to make any except the BB Rovers. If I do make it out to one, I will say hi.

 

Ok, ive been confirmed for BB Rovers as long as im not out of work at like midnight.

 

This is definitely good to know because i like to go to places, when i can get out, where i like the ppl and owners there.

BB Rovers the ppl were just great to be around and my first time there i was alone but didnt feel alone, like i do in some bars where i feel ppl go with just friends and dont really want to talk to anyone but.

Also good to know that the cat may have better draft than i remember, and i love the venue.

 

I just called to confirm with BB Rovers and he said it is tapping tomorrow night, Thursday at 7pm and not Friday...

 

Ok just called a 2nd time after seeing this thread and spoke to someone else that confirmed it is Friday...sorry

 

The OP is the Founder's rep for Central TX. He knows when it will be tapped.
