Lost Nation will be releasing 750ml bottles of their Gose this Friday 4/18 at 10am at the brewpub in Morrisville.

The Gose will be a bottle condition version of what you would normally find on tap at your favorite watering hole. The brewers indicated that there is a slightly higher level of carbonation in the first venture into the world of bottles.

The bottled version is excellent. It's remarkable what some additional aging and increased CO2 vols bring to the beer.

As much as I’d love to try a bottle-conditioned version, I’d honestly have a real hard time buying a 750ml bottle of this at the brewery when I can walk out of there with a 64oz growler refill for $2 less (about 1/3 the cost per ounce it seems)

Yeah, I thought the pricing was a little much too. But I'll still get a bottle or two to try.

As pretty much the best deal in craft beer in Vermont, its very clear Lost Nation isn't looking to take advantage of anyone. To me the pricing shows how much work it takes to put beer in a package and bottle carbonate. I even live here, have regular access to their beer both in growler or on tap around town, and I'm pumped to have bottles of Gose in the fridge.

No one would complain about a $12 bottle of sour beer from some other VT brewer.

Yeah I don’t think they’re looking to take advantage people either – they seem like one of the least likely brewers to do that sorta thing. I’m only saying if I step foot in there and am offered 750 bottle-conditioned ml’s for $12 vs 64 oz for a $10 refill….as much as I like the bottle-conditioned idea, I’d be extremely hard pressed to not get the growler. The location becomes a factor because if I saw those bottles down by me here in MA I’d probably buy them without thinking twice about it.

$12 bottles are offensive when you can get a growler for $10.
I'm sure they'll sell just fine though just won't be buying any myself.

so the fact their growler is cheap makes the reasonable $12 offensive? buy the growler to drink immediately and the bottle for when you aren't nearby.
As soon as I get near I will buy the bottles(and growlers).
