Sorry. Definitely not going for the 'I found some, not telling you where.' Although, I was not going to just write it up in the general forum. Figured those who wanted a bottle would just ask me via private message. Got some private messages, and let each person know exactly where I found it (including phone/website). I didn't get any messages back about them being out, so I assume all those who I led in the right direction struck gold.

I see nothing wrong with this. If you've got a secret stash store, you should be able to keep it to yourself.

I know a secret store with a stash of 2012 50/50 Eclipses. They're $5 off now (~$25/bottle). Please buy them. It's called Superior Liquor. By the time they drop the price to $20/bottle, they're probably going to taste like oxidized shit, so now is the time to hit it.

I agree, feel free to keep it to yourself, but that's different from posting that you found some, there is more left, but then not stating where.

That's fair, on the previous post about the private message. I've just had a few instances where people have kept it to themselves and it annoys me to no end.

What variants of the 50/50, if you know? I thought the Java was great. Even at $25, though, I just don't know if I can justify buying it....

There are 3 or 4 variants, and 15-20 bottles total. I'm pretty sure there's pappy van winkle, and whatever other ones everyone is creaming over, like chateau lafite rothschild barrel aged eclipse, or some shit like that.

I believe the Pappy version was a brewery only release.

There were several varieties out on the wooden shelf at Davidsons earlier this week. If I remember correctly some were marked indicating they were from previous years. Don't recall what variants.

I wouldn't spend $25 on most of the Eclipse stouts...and I can't recall the better ones offhand well enough to hunt those down either. Uncle Jacobs is still around and is better and oz for oz cheaper, too. For that matter, for the same price oz for oz, AC Golden's Ctayt is still on sale in Boulder. I'd take it over any and all of them.
Although, after seeing former shelf turds like 120 Minute IPA and WWS sell out in minutes, I do wonder if those Eclipse beers will be sought after collectors items in a few years...

I'm definitely liking 2014 much better than 2013, but still not quite as much as 2012.
The barrel takes the front of the stage again and the body is more substantial that last year's, even if it isn't as full as '12. Even though the IBU count is listed as the same, the hop flavor is back in the background, just where I like it to be with my stouts.
I'll definitely keep one to age and side-by-side with my '12 at some point.

Of the few I had, the 2012 4 Roses was my favorite. I actually spent the $30 on the last batch of Java and was severely underwhelmed. I believe I had a Buffalo Trace aged during GABF in 2012, it was good but didn't set my world on fire. As much as I liked the 4 Roses, I won't be spending $25-30 on it or any other Eclipse. Maybe $20 because I see them on par with Ctayt and BA Imperial Biscotti Break. But I have passed on those the last times I've seen them too.

If SalukiAlum is taken care of, I have a '13 Parabola to trade for a '14.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but it looks like FW XVIII has dropped. Saw it at Argonaut this afternoon... just FYI.

Has it always been $22-23?? I just don't remember it being that expensive...but more than likely I was probably just trying to forget how much I've been paying for beers like this :stuck_out_tongue:

Aren't the FW boxed items typically $15? Maybe the Anniversary items were more...I dunno.
    What's this year's blend like?

The FW Annys have been in the $20-22 range the last year or so

Sounds ridiculous to blend all that stuff together, like the suicide sodas I used to make at the Burger King self-serve soft drink station.

I was just thinking about how hammered one would get sampling the blends until it was just right. "Alright, let's see, 25% Parabola, then add everything else." Take a drink. "Nope, needs more Parabola. Up it to 27%." Take another drink. "Nope, let's go 30%." Take a drink. On and on until you got the right blend. That would be such an awesome process.
