Central Waters Illumination

    Hey guys,
    Since Central Waters seems to be really slow in answering emails, facebook messages, tweets etc., I will ask on this forum.....

    I saw some Illumination on the shelves at the East Madison Woodman's yesterday. I don't recall hearing that it had come out yet this year. Wondering if it is last year's batch? This particular beer is not labeled with the year it was bottled, only the month and it says March.......

    I wouldn't be so sure. its just interesting that I haven't seen any tweetsor anything from any of my local stores or central waters on it being released.

    I would be willing to bet it's from 2013. The Woodman's by me has had Illumination sitting since released last spring, and it's still there as of last week. I've seen this beer sitting at other shops in Milwaukee all winter as well.

    That's crazy! Illumination is making a few appearances in bars around Chicagoland, but I'd definitely trust your eyes if you've been going into the same bottle shop consistently.

    OP, you should just ask the staff how long it's been there.

    Last years Illumination is in there old 4 pack holders so if it is in the new holders it is most likely this years.

    I was at the brewery about a month ago and asked one of their brewers about it since I also saw it on the shelf of a store, and he said they brew it sometime around March. So it very well could be fresh, but I would think we'd have heard something from CW personally if they just released it. 95% chance it's last year's batch.

    This. I bought some thinking it would be new batch, failed to see the old 4 pk holder. Didn't realize it until I drank one, too bad this happened after packing one up and sending as an extra in a trade. Also, they changed their bottle caps recently...that should also be a good way of telling age. Lastly, old Illumination is not that good.

    @Ri0 , Got a message from them on facebook, it will also be the same price as the 4 packs!!! Now that is how you do it.

    Take a great 4 pack and turn it in to a awesome 6 pack for the same price!

    Always thought this was overpriced at $13 a four pack considering all the other great DIPAs in 4 packs available for 3-4 bucks less. Was gonna pass but probably pick some up now

    Me 2. I love fresh illumination but it was very pricy. Would have bought more in the past if not for that.
