Craft brewers have changed my mind about lagers completely.

When I first got caught to the craft beer scene and realized there was better beer out in the world, lagers where the very last thing I ever wanted to drink again, the likes of BMC and MillerCoors completely ruined the style for me.

    Several years later....

I finally found the courage to try a craft lager, expecting the worse but then being pleasantly surprised! I now find my taste buds searching for and wanting more craft lagers! Anyone have any suggestions of more to try? Currently have been drinking Fort Georges 1811 Lager which is excellent as well as Full Sails LTD lager (currently sipping on Recipe# 4).

I'm not sure where you are, but from the two you mentioned, I would guess the NW. Try Heater-Allen and you will never hate on lagers again...

I never really drink lagers, but I was at a tasting recently and tried some Troegs Sunshine Pils and it was really quite nice.

Sam Adams Noble Pils is pretty tasty. Also, anything from Jack's Abbey (they make tons of awesome lagers).

Been checking out lagers/pilsners a little recently and having some positive results. Still not a huge fan of the style but they can certainly hit the spot in the right mood. Odell's Double Pilsner and SN's Summerfest have been the two that I have had the most positive response to, probably due to both using a decent malt base.

I'm still not the biggest fan of most lagers, but damn do I love me some pilsners! Uplsope Craft Lager is one of my new favorites, as well I enjoy Victory Prima Pils. A friend sent me a Troegs Sunshine...it was...ok.

Try the Full Sail LTD #3 (blue package). Easily the best craft lager I've had and fairly easy to find.

Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold and Elliot Ness are just about as good as it gets for lagers brewed in the US. I'm from Cleveland, so I probably sound like a homer or I'm being biased, but they really are amazing beers, especially Dortmunder Gold.. don't take my word for it though..

A couple people have already noted Jack's Abbey rocking the lagers.

I've got nothing else to add, other than... that. Jack's Abbey rocking the lagers.

I love me some craft lagers, SN Summerfest is a beer I always look forward to buying a couple of cases of during the summer. Also really dig NB's Shift, and of course you gotta give it up to the German's, they perfected this style years ago, still can't beat a nice cold Bitburger, or Weinstephaner!

Another vote for Jack's Abby, they're ramping up distribution into the Northeast and it's going to take some time, but they have an excellent product right now and if they can scale up production without compromise they'll be a major player in the region.

Heater Allen specializes in lagers, and I have enjoyed everything I have tried from them so far. Plus they're a NW local.
