While the Cisco sours are spendy, they are right in line with other good American sours.

Agreed with the Cisco sours. Pretty easy to find sitting around as well. I really liked the peach one.

I just saw Cisco put out a beer called cranberry woods. I don't think this is in MN yet but sounds pretty interesting.

Bemidji Brewing had 3 sours at the Northern Lights festival and I thought they were all great. The guys working the stand said they hope make sours a part of their lineup available for purchase at some point, so this is no help now, but if/when you ever see sours from these guys - try it.

Aside from what everyone else has already mentioned I personally like Lolita, Juliet, Blue Sunday, and Dissident (none brewed here, but all sold here). You can also find a lot of the Bruery sours in Hudson.

As mentioned do not shy away from this. I was cautious about it at first. This is probably one of the best MN Made beers I've had in recent memory. The sour and peat are both subtle and are blended exceptionally well together and compliment each other. Opened a bottle at a tasting I hosted this past Saturday and it was the first beer to empty with everyone planning to seek more.

Serendipity I would agree is a sour beer although not necessarily as "wild" as many are, I think the sourness more comes from the fruits involved and how everything works in the end. It does have a bit of pucker to it and I love it. Not sure if they'll drop their Strawberry RHubarb this year again but that was a nice sour-esque beer. It's actually given me the desire to try adding strawberries to my rhubarb wheat I brew.

Bent Brewstiller (formerly Pour Decisions) does some excellent sours, in fact I saw some bottles of Pour Decisions barrel aged St Whatsername the other day at uh Heritage, and that's a GREAT beer for the money. Most excellent sours I've found hurt the pocketbook

I picked up some Duschesse de Bourgogne on my brother in laws recommendation. Will have to look for the other stuff too. Will try the Brau Brothers, probably split it with my brother in law when he is in town a couple of weeks from now.

Thank you everyone for the recommendations.

Don't discount New Belgium either. Just because they're not local or small anymore isn't a reason to ignore their ability to produce some great sours.

La Folie is fantastic. Has anyone seen it in MN yet?

Mankato MGM still had Love Child as did St. Peter. I know Willmar still had it very recently too. It's out there still. I personally really enjoy it too.

I've tried one beer from Cisco which was a fruit beer, Bike Path. It was ok.

As for original post, be looking for La Folie. I'm currently working on a growler of it and will be going to Monk's tonight to drink some 2013. It is a fantastic sour. We already have had it for a couple weeks in South Dakota.

I really like Cisco Lady of the Woods, but have not had a bottle now that it is in this market. Only because of the sticker price. It is a worthy American sour and better than most of the Goose Island sours and will buy that instead of the GI sisters from now on if I want to spend $20+ on a bottle.

I'll be the odd man out and say I really didn't think the few Cisco sours I tried were the very good. Even if they were $10 I don't think I would buy anymore. I would love to get my hands on some of the Love Child series. Boulevard usually seems to come through so I have no problem paying $18 for a bottle. I never saw those in stores this year but admittedly was on a continuous stout hunt all winter which was costly. Been chasing the Loons and 3F lately and got my first shipment from Belgium.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I have been thinking we could really use a great sour/wild program in the cities. I agree any local brewery that could pull it off would really become very successful.

Has anybody saw Love Child #3 on shelves in St. Paul or the St. Paul Suburbs lately? I would love to pick up a few bottles.

I called. The guy sounded like I was crazy. Didn't sound like they had it for a while but he mentioned they still have KBS.

Looks like Love Child #4 comes out in May according to the Boulevard website.

Still a lot of Jolly Pumpkin hanging around at lots of shops.
