Founder's usually annouces this roughly 2 months prior to the release and I'm guessing the next one will be June/July, I bet within 30/45 days we should expect an announcement.

And since the next 5 days will be filled with Dark Lord threads, might as well drum up some conversation/predictions to see what people think other than where to park at DLD.

I know Panther Cub would be my personal choice, but I highly doubt FBC is going to release 2 porters in a row to start off 2014, esp with this being a summer release.

So my guess would be since the previous 3 summer releases were BM and FMB and MM, the next will be an ale out of left field, but no clue what it would be.

It won't be barrel aged, and it will be a variant of a beer that they've had several versions of already in the taproom. They're currently in the process of getting labels approved, so they already have the beer basically made and named. That comes directly from people who know. I'm thinking either Imperial Black IPA or a DIPA, given their SpyPA series.

EDIT: Pro Tip: Visit the government's label approval site (https://www.ttbonline.gov/colasonline/publicSearchColasBasic.do) and search "Founders" on a daily basis. Smoked Porter was approved 6 days before they made the announcement (if you modify the search to encompass a date range back to 12/1/2013 you can see for yourself), and although I can't be positive that the website posted it on the same day it was approved, I have to figure that it has to be updated pretty regularly to keep up with freedom of information laws or something to that effect (could also be wishful thinking). Of course, that won't necessarily tell you what kind of beer it is (if you saw "Sweet Repute" on there (approved 9/23/2013) before an announcement was made, you'd have no way of knowing that it was a maple bourbon barrel aged wheatwine) but it'll at least give you a name, and if you're lucky, it'll have an indicator in the name as to what it is.

I do wonder if any previous releases might ever make a return.

My WAG is that they bottle some version of Spite for the next one and finally bottle Panther Cub in the fall.

Not to hijack my own thread but I did a quick search on bells(although it looks like a lot of their 'labels' are more for their tap board or events and not always bottles) and found these two potential gems.

It's going to be something that a lot of people on this site will bitch about despite Founders not owing anybody anything.

With Rubaeus out now I would like to think maybe Founders saved some of those raspberries for a nice batch of Blushing Monk but maybe they wouldn't release two fruit beers at the same time.

My note goes for spite or some type of black IPA, it seems like they always have some variety of these beers on tap of late

How about a citra-forward or galaxy-forward DIPA? Or perhaps their version of a PtE clone? Now those would taste great for the summer season.
