So, upon visiting my local beer store today, the owner comes up to me and says "we just got a new brewery in, its a Founders." I have been trying to score something from them for awhile, but no one around here carries them. I bought some Dirty Bastard, and I have to say it lives up to the hype. I always enjoyed Old Chub, but this is even better. It was a good day.

Was that the only Founders beer they received so far? Not that it's a bad choice, just curious.

They had Red's Rye, Old Curmudgeon, & Centennial IPA.

For my money, Founders Porter is the best damn year-round six pack you can buy.

I'd say give that Red's Rye a shot next time. Yum.

I tried to talk the wife into getting Red's Rye for her choice, but she went with some Goose Island Matilda that he had just got in.

I was eyeing up the Old Curmudgeon, then noticed it was $20 a four pack - I hesitated.

Over the past several months I've developed kind of a late-night tradition. When I have to work late (from home) I usually crack open a Founders Porter or Breakfast Stout, pour it into a coffee cup. Gives me that "second wind" I need, almost like that first cup of coffee in the morning. As of last week I'm all out of both, and unfortunately I'll have to order them from France44 or elsewhere since we don't get Founders here. I suppose I could also start drinking Deschutes and/or SN porters/stouts, those are also very good and always available.

Happy that you finally got some Founders at your local shop. But that price for OC is a bit out of line. I pay $2.50 a bottle here in SoVA.

That's robbery. $10.99 here. $12.49 at worst. I bet they haven't sold much at that price.

It's not Old Curmudgeon. It's Curmudgeon Old Ale. And $20 a 4 pack is a big time rip off.

The six pack of Dirty Bastard was $12, but the four pack of OC seemed a bit much. I guess it is like four pints at the bar, but the price steered me away.

That Curmudgeon is overpriced IMO, well at least it is compared to the $12 i normally see it for in NC and OH.

Go back right now and buy the Red's Rye and the IPA. When you go back they. Are going to be out of it and you will be kicking yourself.

Seriously, listen to Sammy. Red's and Centennial are both fucking awesome.
