looking to try some brews that are unique with respect to their given style...for me, heady topper, sweet action, and the abyss are beers, with respect to their styles, that stand alone...give me some brews that gave you unique flavor profiles for a certain style

An edit: I know most of you are probably too young, but the first time I had an Aecht Schlenkerla Marzen I said, "WTF," in a good way. This was probably 1996 or '97

Cascade Vlad the Imp Aler… A classic cascade style barrel aged sour, but part barrel aged Quad, and brewed with spices?????…..It's Unique alright and delicious…

Honestly…the only spiced sour i've ever had, or know of. Are there others?

Couldn't agree more with the Cascade stuff. Not much like it and damn solids cross the board

I had Caspers White Stout once in chicago and really enjoyed it. I'd never had a white stout before. It definitely didn't taste like I should have based on appearance. I think I'd like to try it again. http://www.jpbrewery.com/casper.html

Copper Kettle's Mexican Chocolate takes the powdery cacao notes observed in other imperial stouts to what I'd call a unique extreme.

Westvleteren 12 boasts a delicate mouthfeel I've never quite experienced in another quadrupel (and yes, I've had Abt 12 and Rochefort 10 and whatnot). Also, the dark fruits are uniquely exquisite.

Guinness Special Export Stout has a unique roasted character to it, and that beer flies under the radar because so many American beer fans have discounted Guinness entirely. That could well be my favourite beer.

Nothing is close in taste to Orval.

Truth. Even the direct copies of it don't really taste like it (as much as I like some of the imitations.)

I'm sure I'm not the only one glad that this beer is unique.

On a more serious note, Cisco Lady of the Woods is unlike any other sour I've tasted. It's hard to describe all the flavors (especially since it's been a few months since I've had it), but they were truly delicious in so many ways. Project Dank was similarly unique. Never tasted an IPA that came anywhere close to rivaling the complexity of Project Dank. Jester King Ambree tasted of green apples and cheddar, and I can't say I've ever heard of that flavor profile anywhere else.

Boulevard Dark Truth Stout. There might be many others like it, but I am not an experienced enough drinker to have tried any, so for me, this stout is unique compared to the other stouts i've had.

Since Orval was already said, I'll go with Fantôme Saison. (Or anything Fantôme, really).
