If you're going to call a beer Hoperation Overload, you'd better singe my tongue. Hoperation failed. Not bad, but the New Dogtown pale ale I had earlier had a hoppier profile than this DIPA. Local brewery, Destihl, needs some more game, but the effort is appreciated!
    Cheers!

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty shitfaced right now. Thought I'd have this as my nightcap...

Great nose on this, but is a little lacking in mouthfeel. Otherwise, this is a decent, readily available BB Stout. Not a world beater, but gets the job done if need be.

Probably won't hear from me tomorrow as I have some good friends coming over to celebrate an impending birth. Here's what we (as men) have to look forward to..

[IMG] That's 128 oz of BCBS and a little Speedway + sex panther to level things out.
Should be a total shit show. Prost!!!

    Revisit review night as usual!

Very nice English porter! Prominent roasted coffee with balanced chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, toast, brown bread, light nuttiness, herbal, and roast/toasty earthiness. Nicely robust and very smooth.

Awesome saision. Big lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, sage, grass, herbal, floral, wheat, cracker, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Great yeast, hop, spice balance. So crisp.

Absolutely incredible scotch ale. As far as widely available offerings are concerned, this is the benchmark followed closely by the House ale. Big caramel, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, pear, toast, toffee, apple, oak, brown bread, chocolate, coriander, herbal, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Extremely robust and balanced with no cloying sweetness. Total awesomeness.

I love this one just like last time, awesome barleywine. Nov 2012 bottle code. Grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, caramel, toast, toffee, raisin, bread, light pine, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Awesome sweetness/bitterness balance and a great amount of malt/hop complexity. So satisfying for the style.

A damn good Belgian strong ale! Lots of raisin, plum, cherry, fig, pear, apple with balanced honey/candi sugar/toast/lightly nutty malt sweetness and a fair amount of earthy/peppery yeast notes. Very enjoyable!

    Cheers

It was good. Bourbon character was more mild but I got a lot of cinnamon and chocolate
