When finishing one beer and moving on to the next I love to experiment with a blend. Last night I poured some Bigfoot into the glass with my last 2 oz. of Troegenator and it was pretty damn good.

I've done it before as well, usually with barleywines that are a little too sweet. For example, had Anchor Old Foghorn and it was way to sweet for me, so added equal parts of it and Stone IPA and it made a pretty good beer. Not sure if this is a black and tan, but also have tried Stone RIS and Ruination (turned out great). I agree people probably think it is blasphemy, but who cares as long as I enjoyed it I really don't care

Raspberry Lambic with a Chocolate Stout makes a pretty freaking good dessert beer. I have also been doing black and tans with Session IPA's.

If it bothers someone, I think it says more about them than it says about you. Now look, I was able to track down only one bottle of KBS (my first) and of course I'm not going to mix it with anything. But beers I've had a hundred times like Troegenator and Bigfoot? Why not. As much as I love and respect the craft of brewing fine beers, it all boils down to the experience of the consumer, so if you enjoy mixing your beers, I say have at it.

Raspberry Tart or Wisconsin Red would both probably be better. Not sure I'd want apple or strawberry mixed with coffee stout...

Yeah, I really wanted to do it with the Belgian Red. Unfortunately I only received the two that I mentioned. I ended up blending the Serendipity with it (it's heavier on the cherry and cranberries than the apples), and it turned out pretty tasty and extra drinkable. I wouldn't say the blend was better than both base beers on their own, though.

Some of the best blends I've had:
50/50 Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout / Victory Storm King
    50/50 Marshall Zhukov/BCBS
    50/50 Dogfish 120/Dogfish WWS

I've had a similar experience, however it was with BCBBW and Rubaeus. A friend/employee at a craft store was switching draft lines from Rubaeus to BCBBW and accidentally found the combination. Needless to say I had to give it a try too, it was a divine concoction.

1 part Sixpoint Resin, 2 parts Sixpoint Sweet Action= Sweet Resin.

This would probably work better with Hi-Res but this will have to do until January 2015.

2 awesome blends based on Southern Tier's Creme Brûlée Stout -
    1. Creme Brûlée Stout with an Imperial Pumpkin (we used several, as well as some less alcoholic varieties, and most were great) makes a beer surprisingly close to the flavor of Pecan Pie.

    2. Creme Brûlée Stout with Purple Monkey Dishwasher (I imagine another chocolate peanut butter porter or stout would do just as well) brings out the peanut butter and chocolate flavors, and turns a beer I don't love (the Purple Monkey Dishwasher) into something a little less savory, and far more delicious.
