Are there any casinos/hotels on the strip that have any decent selection? Heading down there for Memorial Day and would like to grab at least a couple pints of something delicious.

I come here regularly for work and the scene is better every time. Staying at Mandalay Bay right now. The pool bar had Sculpin and Ranger in cans. Lagunitas IPA is all over the place. Yard House at the Linq has some great taps. Burger Bar in the shops at Mandalay Bay. Public House in the Venetian. Pub at Monte Carlo. Todd English PUB in Aria. Banger Brewing if you get up to Fremont Street. Walgreens on the Strip has great beer to go. The craft beer scene here is massively underrated.

Nice. When is the last time you went to banger? I did the big mural at the brewery

I really liked Todd English PUB, ESECIALLY for happy hour!! Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, good burgers, fries and beer (solid happy hour too). I also enjoyed Pour 24, cool little satellite bar in the lobby with good beer and great for people watching or grabbing a beer for the walk. Personally didn't think the beer scene was all that, but I live in Colorado  Got the job done though. I picked up a 6er of Sculpin and a few local bottles from the Whole Foods and drank them either in the room or for walking around. A matter of fact I would sneak a couple of cold ones down to the sportsbook and drink for free!!

Burger Bar and Todd English's PUB are guaranteed stops for my wife and I.
The Pub at the Monte Carlo is great on paper but I've gotten some absolutely FOUL beers there (soured) and the bartenders seemed to be clueless and annoyed when I told them that a maibock shouldn't taste like vinegar.
A lot of the other places seem to come and go. They'll be there one month and gone the next...or they'll overhaul their format.

100% agree. Pub at Monte Carlo is very hit and miss. They do have a solid beer but I also have gotten some off bottles from them. I know the yard house at the linq is putting some great beer on taps they have bourbon county barley wine right now.

Burger Bar has some nice belgians in bottles and a good tap list. What really makes that place stand out is the food! Burgers are ridiculous.

Todd English is a great place to start off a night because certain beers (typically BMC) are free if you can pound them in 15 seconds. The Pub has flights of IPAs (nothing limited usually) but it's not a bad spot with a wide selection

...in theory BMC beers are free almost anywhere on the strip as long as you're near slot machines or tables.
At a lot of places you can get Sam Adams, Heineken, Warsteiner, Dos XX, too.

I'll be in Vegas from Jun1-4 and staying at the Venetian. I plan on hitting up Public House...read they have cask ales. I read the reviews but only a couple are fairly current. Thoughts?

I'm here now. Public house has nice tap selection and good variety of bottles. Some of bottles are a bit pricy and only in large format. There are a couple of casks but kind of hit and miss if they are up and running. Usually Deschutes Mirror Pond or one of the Ballast Point IPA's.

I grabbed a Mirror Mirror and Outer Darkeness on tap today. Both excellent!

Decent selection inside a little convenient store inside The Quad. I found a Joseph James Hop Box IIPA that I really enjoyed.

Very cool on your part for the reply! I checked their website out and hope to have a Sculpin on tap.

has anyone checked out the new self-serve taps inside the quad? anything worthwhile on in there?

I didn't try the self serve taps, but did visit Tag Bar in the quad. Just a few taps, but tons of bottles. Nothing super unique, but a real nice range of stuff, and very reasonably price for the strip. Most 12 oz were like $6.50, and even the 22 oz were $8.75 - $11. Yep, Arrogant Bastard in 22 oz for around $9 at a bar in Vegas...

Has anyone been to Aces and Ales or Freaking Frog? I was thinking about stopping by there this weekend while I'm in town.

As mentioned, Public House at the Venetian is a winner. If you don't mind hopping in a quick cab (or driving if you have a car), the Whole Foods right past the strip has a decent selection as well, for bottles.

Other than Banger, any other brew pubs worth hitting up? In town for the next five days.

If you have access to wheels, I would recommend Khoury's.

Big Dogs Draft House and Tenaya Creek for brewpubs (and they are <10 minutes from each other). No food at Tenaya Creek but Aces and Ales Tenaya is 90 seconds down the road (not a brewpub but a worthy stop).
