I think the actual number of Keepers is much lower than that. I personally have 4 memberships and I know people with as many as 8 (*). But, regardless of how many memberships you bought, you still only get to buy 1 bottle of each. (You do get multiples of the keepers-exclusives, of course.)

(*) Lots of these are proxies for trading partners but technically the local person who signed up is the the only Keeper.

This is probably my last post in this thread because of time constraints, but you raise some very valid points that deserve to be addressed.

    But first, the posts above regarding entry;
We will be ID'ing folks prior to general entry and selling tickets/glassware before we open. If you're not interested in bottles, you can head straight to the taps, and there shouldn't be a line to get in/get beer. Unfortunately, there likely will be a line for bottles, though with two sales people it should go at least as fast if not much faster than last time.

Regarding memberships, yes, there are about 200. However, since we allowed the purchase of multiples if anyone so chose, we actually ended up with around 100 members (people with any benefit).

We have no idea what to expect as far as a line, or time it may or may not start. As a beer lover, while our beer is almost invariably better in bottle, I can't conscionably encourage anyone to wait in line for a couple/few/more hours when we will have great brew on tap, and continually put out new bottlings. Hell, we're looking at doing a Bu release of at least 6-8 berry versions in the next few months that shouldn't be nearly as attended as this release appears to be becoming.

I appreciate and have huge respect for your lack of stress on bottles. I mean, I desire Drie Fonteinen and Cantillon all the time but realize that I'll be ok without it.
We will be slowly growing in production (not thaaat much more) so hopefully any potential concern revolving around quantities will be lessened for future releases.
In the end, we want to have a good time with fellow beer lovers this weekend. Isn't that what beer should be about?

Noted. Guess that means folks in line will have a good shot at all bottles.

Actually, phobicsquirrel got the last spot as of a couple minutes ago. I told my indecisive friend that I needed to know by yesterday evening, and since he hasn't bothered confirming I told phobicsquirrel that he could have it.

On that note, yes, the bus is now officially full. A couple notes for people that I may not have sent beermail to:
    • There's a fridge on the bus, so don't worry about bringing coolers to keep your "bottle share" bottles cold.
    • We're hoping to leave promptly at 10, so if possible please try to get to Belmont Station a few minutes prior to that.
    • If you're driving here, please park a block or two away so that we aren't clogging up the limited street parking next to the building for the whole day.
    • I'm not sure if Brewvana is equipped to take credit cards, so please bring cash for your bus fare.
    Cheers!

Chris, do you want to start up a private thread with the bus people? I think you're the only one who knows the full list. Might be good if we want to coordinate bottle share contributions, etc.

Are there any Keepers in Portland who might have room for a passenger to Tillamook? (I only need a ride to Tillamook, as I do have a ride back to Portland.) I will give you gas money and a nice bottle if you can get me to 6000 Blimp Blvd. Unit A on Saturday morning.

Inside: 2014 Dark Lord (best variant since 2010 fresh, IMO) among others
Outside: Black Hole Necromancer (Dark Matter Unicorn Blood Espresso blend aged in Cognac) <---This is coffee released at DLD to be served poured over ice.

Can't happen unfortunately. Our license makes us liable in Oregon for anything that happens on the perimeter of our property. It is illegal to have an open container outside and jeopardizes our license, plus opens the door for fines for both of us. Just like any bar/brewery/restaurant/business in the state, open beverages are illegal outside of any service/control area. There likely will be OLCC and police presence there.
Please believe that we would love to be able to have sharing outside, and that there will be no joy taken in asking people to leave if they choose to do so. It's not worth it.

This is a bottle of coffee. No alcohol content. Hence the discrimination between Inside/Outside, hence my making it very clear in my post exactly what it is. We will of course be very respectful of OR law and would not put in jeopardy any license or our own legal status while waiting in line.

I was confused too - it sounded like some sort of barrel aged iced coffee beer experiment ... Which now sounds kind of intriguing.

It apparently has the same caffeine content as 22 shots of espresso, and it is suggested to be split between a minimum of 6 different people, and as I said, diluted with ice. Apologies for the confusion, a lot of people prior to DLD were confused too - it's a glorified bottle of espresso with wax on top that sold out quickly last Saturday.

Here is a little background for those interested from an interview a couple weeks back with the folks at Dark Matter Coffee - come find us in line and try it out!

Kyle: This is our Unicorn Blood espresso blend, part of the DMC portfolio, aged in Remy Martin Cognac barrels
Jake: You mentioned Black Hole Necromancer. With a description like “Dark Matter Coffee introduces our Cognac Barrel-Aged Unicorn Blood espresso blend. This warlock's elixir is strong enough to summon the spirits of the dead and is sacrificially prepared for Dark Lord Day. Brewed and bottled by the hands of Dark Matter Coffee, cursed and waxed by the vikings at 3 Floyds, this limited edition coffee will be available only at Dark Lord Day. “ it sounds pretty awesome. Will you be selling bottles for carry-out at Dark Lord Day?
Kyle: There will be 800 bottles of the Black Hole for sale at DLD. They will not be opened at purchase and the customer is free to do with them whatever they want. These are not limited to one per person.
Jake: Specifically on Black Hole Necromancer, were the beans aged in barrels and then extracted or did you extract the coffee and age the liquid in barrels?
Kyle: For BHN, we aged the green beans in the barrel and then extracted. However, for the BA Dark Lord, we brewed the BHN into the barrel.
