Looking like I'll be coming in Denver May 16th and 17th. We are driving out and flying back, looking to see if anyone has any hotel suggestions to make it easy to taproom/ Bar hop. (I'd like to not drive, as drinking and driving dont mix well) I hope to stop at Crooked Stave and Great Divide. Any others I should stop at? Since I'm driving out if anyone would like anything from Minneapolis feel free to BM me Thanks for your help! -Eric
Any hotel downtown, particularly LoDo (lower downtown near larimer square / union station) would make it super easy to bar hop. - River North - Jagged Mountain - Prost - Epic - Black Shirt - Rock Bottom All good, all downtown breweries. Bars: - Freshcraft - Fallingrock Tap House - Ale House at Amato's - Euclid - Star Bar All good selections, all downtown.
I'll add Highland Tap & Burger (a bit of a walk, but if you're willing to go to Ale House at Amato's, it's not much farther). Doesn't seem to get mentioned much around here. If you're not down with the walking, it looks like there's a B-Station within a couple blocks of it.
Hows driving around those parts? My girlfriend just usually steals a few sips from my beer, If I can convince her that its "not that bad" to drive, I may have a nice chauffeur . Also are cabs pretty available?
Use Uber. For real. Sign up and you can get $20 off your first ride. Then "refer" your girlfriend and you both get $20 off. Can't lose! Although driving is fine, I may be confused by your question.
Great idea. For instance, driving here in Minneapolis, is a big pain, sometimes it takes 10 minutes to go a mile, and crazy one way streets, that kinda thing.
Driving in Denver is easy, especially on a weekend. IMO much easier than the Twin Cities. You can be almost anywhere in Denver in 15-20 minutes tops. But I live in Ft. Collins, what do I know?!
Unless you find yourself on I-70 or I-25 during rush hours, in which case you'll go insane before reaching your destination. Driving and navigating Denver proper is easy, and much more agreeable than Mpls. Parking isn't terrible to find, though there are some $$ lots. Uber++
Navigating Denver is cake. We're on a grid for the most part (except downtown, which has it's own mini-grid) and there's plenty of parking in any non-residential areas. Rockies game days can change things a little, but it's never going to be THAT bad. Depending on what you feel like spending, the hotels near the convention center are all good choices. Kinda funny - expect to see/smell lots of middle aged people smoking weed in any hotel you choose. It doesn't matter if they're non-smoking or not.
Thanks for all the advice, I think we are looking into a flight + hotel deal so Ill keep the convention center proximity in mind. Im all for recreational pursuits in which the end to the means makes you feel better. Are craft dispensaries the new thing in Denver? lol Also, If anyone is out and about that weekend and want to meet up for a beer or 6 let me know.
I noticed there wasn't an On-Tap thread, just seeing if there are any special takeovers/tappings planned for this Friday and Saturday being that it is American Craft Beer Week. Cheers

American Craft Beer Week... We just had Colorado Craft Beer Week at the end of March and then CBC in April... SMH can't wait for Mountain Timezone Craft Beer Week to hit
