Sigh...another batch without cans. Understand the additional revenue element, the fact that demand far outstrips supply, etc., but I really loved those cans...and the price point in particular.

I would pay more for the cans to be honest. I am a sucker for cans. Don't read into that.

Good example of my doing this yesterday with Fremont The Brother (IIPA) released in cans and bombers - would have paid >$10.99 for the four-pack, but the per oz. price was just about the same in this case:

    4 pack 12-oz. cans: $10.99
    22 oz. bomber: $4.99

Cans have sold fast, bombers lasting far longer on shelves.

Does this one hit their regular distribution at all (like Big Hugs and Double Daisy Cutter)?

I've never had it and have to work until 5pm. My hope for grabbing it at the brewery on my way home is slim.

Well, that's some shit news, but thanks for the reality check haha.
If anyone is interested, I would love to work out an IP trade for the Galactic DDC x2. The new job I'm starting is Beer Buyer for a gourmet grocery store in the west 'burbs so I'll have access to anything coming through the doors...also, have a couple of things I brought from Des Moines - pseudoSue, KBS, among others.
Please BM if considering at all so we can try and work something out.
    Thanks and cheers!

The fact that its limit 4 instead of 6 will make it last a few hours longer in my opinion. They also may have made a bigger batch to bottle as well.

Anything coming through those doors that people will want to trade for will be, for the most part, limited releases. As a new employee, maybe you'd want to actually, you know, leave those beers for the customers.

Frankly...after speaking at length with our corporate Beer Director during the hiring process and having access to all the beers coming in be described as one of the perks of the job, I think I would be in a better place than you to make that assessment.
Of course after having seen some of your posts, it doesn't appear you're interested in much else here than making snide remarks and passing off your self-righteous indignation on others...but I appreciate your input just the same.
    Cheers!

I would guess not, but they sometimes ship this stuff to beer shops as well, so aside from checking at Half Acre, try West Lakeview Liquors, the Beer Temple, and the various Binny's stores around Chicago.

(and by "this stuff" I mean their one-off bombers)

Says the guy who's been here all of a month. I'm sure by reading 20 posts of mine you can come up with a clear picture of who I am as a person.

Whether or not your boss is cool with it is irrelevant to me. You don't HAVE to do it and could go out and look for it the same way your customers are doing. Limited releases are enough of a pain in the ass in Chicagoland; an employee (a brand new one, no less) taking their share of a limited beer just seems shitty to me. But if that's what you want to do, go for it.

(And I don't typically shop in the western suburbs so this isn't sour grapes.)

I love love looove when people hold others' join date above their head as a point of contention. As if words/time on a messageboard make someone's opinion more or less worthy.
I'm not into personal attacks, and don't feel as though I made a comment as to your character outside of this website, I wholeheartedly apologize if it was interpreted that way. I know what the internet and anonymity can bring out of a person and it seems more often than not that your remarks are negative, and not necessarily in a constructive way. I've been there, and had my fair share of "click-remorse" in the past.
Look brotha, I don't completely disagree with your sentiment. I want to clear the air by stating that I would never take advantage of my position and use it to buy unreasonable amounts of anything that comes through those doors. I've been very frustrated in the past by staff at places I've been very loyal to buying 50% or more of a store's allotment, making it nearly impossible for a customer who is not "in" with them to get a limited release. I will adhere to any purchasing limits we set just like we'd expect of any customer...but I've been made to believe that buying from the store is not discouraged in any way (rather, it's even encouraged), and to say something like "you should go look for it" when it is right in front of me is kind of silly. My goal is to support our store and brand in my purchases anytime that is possible.
I really hate getting into arguments like this because we are all here for the same thing - our love of beer - which is meant to bring joy. I don't wish ill on anyone and try my best to always keep things positive...although I can admit a weakness in allowing myself to occasionally get "hooked" in a debate. If there is anything I can do to bury the hatchet and make up for this poor introduction, please let me know (I mean this).
Lastly, I kindly ask in good faith that you remove the store name from your previous post...as stated before, I don't like to make things personal.
    Cheers.
