    Hello, Beer Friends!

This weekend, May 2 and 3, marks Cambridge Brewing Company's 25th Anniversary. We can't believe how the time has flown past, and we want to thank the craft beer community - and this definitely includes all of our friends at Beer Advocate - for their support for so many years.

You guys have been a constant source of creative motivation, occasional constructive criticism, support and friendship, and Phil and I and the rest of the CBC Team really mean it when we say thanks.

There's a helluva lot going on these days, with our Bottling Project morphing into a Canning Project with our friends at Wachusett Brewery; new beers coming out all the time; collaborations with De La Senne, Naparbier, Boulevard, Ninkasi, Long Trail, and more; a weekend long party with music, beer, a pig roast, and more beer, plus a Homebrew Contest; and an upcoming super limited release of a corked-and-caged, bottle-conditioned 25th Anniversary Imperial Amber Ale aged in rum barrels (coming in June!). All contributing towards our goal of raising $25,000 for a local Cambridge charity.

We thank you guys for your commitment to the beer community and we look forward to seeing you all at CBC, at the ACBF, and at fests and events throughout the rest of this year!

    Thanks and Cheers,
    Will

Oh, and here's a teaser for you...

@NTLOPE Is this YEMS on cask one of the sour barrels you had? Surprsingly tart compared to what I remembet of other batches.

This is an incredible, somehow under-the-radar event (didn't think this was possible at CBC after the Pumpkin and Sour fests). Was there tonight and the crowds were very limited, while beer selection was perhaps the best available at any time in the Boston area (outside of EBF).

    I enjoyed:
    - Honey Badger (life mantra: never refuse a chance to "extinct" a beer)
    - YEMS Vintage 2011 ON CASK. Yes to the poster above; Slightly sour, but oh so delicious. All beers should be served at these perfect conditions, but I digress...
    - Ozymandias: Barrel Aged Sour. Seriously 20% ABV? Very generous pour.
    - Light and Shadow - very experimental and unlike anything I've had before. Very interesting (in a good way!)

I hope I'm able to go back tomorrow, and encourage all locals to do the same. CBC is a gem in the Boston area.

I stopped by Friday night and again Saturday afternoon, and as always, it was well-run and a blast, with tons of excellent beer. The food from the grill was stellar, as well. I enjoyed trying some samples of the higher ABV stuff from inside, but mostly stuck to some of the (relatively) lower ABV beers. Some of the highlights for me were the Cambridge Calling, Heather Ale, Higgs Boson, Flower Child, Brett Grisette, Mellow Gold and Cerisse Casse. The folks at the CBC do as good a job running a party as they do brewing beer: here's to another 25 years!

Straight from the CBC, the winner was Michael Bowen of Portsmouth, NH; with Paul Aho of Townsend, MA in 2nd place; and Tim Wasalski of Aberdeen, NJ in 3rd.
