Pretty cool, their stuff is decent. I think i saw the blonde and amber in 16oz cans. The IPA is actually good hopefully they get that in cans. Never had it fresh since their growlers sit in shops for months
Thanks for posting about our cans..they are just getting out to retailers who sell our beer. 16 oz cans in four packs of Cape Cod Red and Cape Cod Beach Blonde. I'm not sure where you have seen growlers sitting "in shops for months"..but we'd love to hear about it since we self distribute, visit our customers with great frequency and require our beer to be kept cold and feel really good about the freshness of our beer out in our geographically limited distribution area. After 10 years of filling and distributing growlers we get really good shelf life on them..refrigerated of course...so if you have experienced otherwise we'd like to hear about it and where. How about shooting us an email info(at)capecodbeer(dot)com if you have concerns about beer age at a specific location..instead of generalizing here. That would really be beer advocacy! As always, as with most brewers, if you have that concern we would far prefer you contact us directly about it than just post about it. Here is the original thread about our cans http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...ses-beach-blonde-and-red-in-16oz-cans.170642/ And in terms of the IPA..probably not this summer..not sure about after that. This is really an experiment in mobile canning...so time will tell. CCB
Tried CC for the first time at a tasting @ Wines and More earlier this year and really enjoyed their stuff. They got the cans in last week and growlers i've gotten from them have always been fresh!
Nothing better than a vacation in a can this summer. I go to the Cape and have never seen CC growlers older than a few days. I have not seen CC growlers anywhere off the Cape, so not sure where they would be sitting for months.
Stopped by after the we ran the full Hyannis Marathon. Guys treated us great and had some solid beers. Excited to get some more this summer.
Always thought this brewery was just slightly over mediocre but I had their porter last week and it was great. Will have to pay closer attention to their beers this summer when I'm on the cape. Cans definitely make it much more likely I will try when I'm back home though.
Try their hefeweizen, they dont make an 'american wheat' and call it one, actually really true to style and AWESOME for the summer. If that is in cans this summer, I'll have to grab a bunch when I go down to the cape.
Me too. The ubiquity of the Red on the Cape doesn't help their reputation. The beer is fine, but it's definitely not one that gets BAs to take note. Hopefully they can convince their accounts to put some of their other stuff on tap from time to time.
Agreed that the red is around too much (defining ubiquity for you all ) and the others not enough. Would love to see the summer in cans and the IPA would be my preference over the red. Regardless, a nice distribution improvement for the Cape Cod crew.
For those of you who think all we do is RED we'd highly recommend that you try our beer finder on capecodbeer.com ..its linked to the physical assets an account has on hand..and we currently have 11 brands of beer on the street..from Imperial IPA, Pilsener and common to black lager and porter. Yes with a traditional Hefeweizen and a few others thrown in. We don't strive to be "all the rage of the BA community" because most of you don't visit us very often. We're quietly doing our own thing here on Cape Cod..which includes an amazing number of new beers this year...22s...16 oz cans...and other fun stuff. We're not flashy..never really expected to be...just making solid beers for people on Cape Cod since 2004. Hyper local..thats been our model since we started. Come check us out..we're not coming your way any time soon (sorry) just doing our thing on little 'ole Cape Cod. And a special thanks to those of you who appreciate what we do! You're the reason we got into this business! Cheers CCB
Here, Here! Big fan of your beers, currently have three empty growlers longing for the return trip over the bridge! Drink your year-end/seasonals when on Cape, but usually make the trip for growlers of the specialty beers. Stargazer Stout, Albatross Imperial Stout, Black Van Lager and the Bitter End Imperial IPA were all very good beers! One of these years I will get a hold of Hot Blonde to try! Keep up the good work!
Growlers are always pretty fresh when I visit the Cape. IPA and Summer is pretty much all I buy while i'm there.
