I just hope all the casuals flock to the oakland location instead of crowding up the lounge even more.

I've been to the brewery a bunch but never the lounge. Is it worth the extra 20 minutes to get there?

Thinking about going over for this, I haven't had a chance to get over there and check it out yet

Is there a growler fill list? Just wondering what I'd be able to take home with me.

You can take their core beers home anytime: Hop Gun, Floridian, and OP Porter. They also have Cabana Boy and Crusher Session IPA, currently.

and special fills every Tuesday night

I'm biased. I know more people at the lounge so I enjoy it better.
Oakland has too many people I can't relate to.

Absolutely. Completely different vibe though. For one, there are no TV's. Two, there is live music and comedy most nights. Three, Morgan, Jack and crew are killing it there. Been very impressed with how they've come along. Some Thursdays they break out an incredible limited time keg of something spectacular. Def worth checking out.

Do they brew their own batches of beer, too?

Oh, man. That looks waaaaay better than the Oakland Park location. Sick bottle list. I knew it was the original I just thought they stopped brewing commercially there once Oakland Park opened up and that it was now essentially Ryan's test kitchen. I thought that's what Adrian said on the tour. I misunderstood.

Gotta be honest. I love the beer at the OP location but the vibe is kinda soulless. A lot of the staff are either aloof or smug and there's very little interaction between the patrons. It's not in FFF's class of douchebaggery. Don't get me wrong. Just wish it had a little touch of an Irish Pub atmosphere, too.

Oakland Park just needs a little more time. They've come a long way in their first year. Huge change going from small batch in Boca to those monsters they got down in OP. And they decided to do a club during their first year to boot. They're nuts. But they're good. Really good. Do not underestimate what Ryan and crew are capable of in OP. I won't.

Agreed...they've expanded from the lounge, to OP, pretty damn quick, and have still done pretty well in making the conversion to big batches.

Don't forget about the Brownie Blowout with Don't Tell Reese at the Easter beer fest at the lounge. That was damn good.

I used to go to the lounge all the time when I lived in Boca, back when Kevin was there. Would love to know what happened with Squirrel, but I guess I'll find out eventually.

I think that it's tough to compare the "atmosphere" at brewery to the lounge in the sense that it's extremely difficult to achieve that level of intimacy/personal relationships (staff) in a taproom as large as OP's. As time goes on, I feel that OP will develop more of a personality. Beer-wise, they've definitely gotten better at nailing down the flavors/quality we've come to expect coming out of the lounge. It all takes time and I'm not going to be overly judgmental as I thoroughly enjoy having a place so close to my house where I can enjoy some pretty awesome beers with my friends

Here is what the Funky Buddha Brewsletter says about guest taps:
    Pinglehead Ambitious Monk
7eventh Sun Or it Gets the Gose Again
    Saint Somewhere Cheval
    Saint Somewhere Ete Sans Fin
Special releases from Wynwood Brewing Co., Tequesta Brewing Co., and Cigar City Brewing
I was hoping that they would have a keg of Nib Smuggler, I haven't had a chance to try it since I was out of town during the bottle release. According to the Brewsletter, more draft announcements to come on May 14 so maybe they will find a keg laying around and it will be added on

Dude props to Funky for getting Saint Somewhere. I don't know why but that brewery has a special place in my heart, I just want them to succeed. I really enjoy their Lecto Divinia but don't buy it often enough.
