I'll be rolling thru Charleston early June, 4-5. Timing sounds good to pick up some MCake. Cant beat that price. I was hoping to roll into some other big releases this NC boy doesn't normally get a shot at.

 

Aged IPA is not really preferable anyways. Just for you, I can dig out a stale bottle.

 

Sweet! Had a year old Hopslam a few weeks ago (someone sent as an extra...thanks?). It was...lacking. Give it another three years, and it could have been a "decent" barleywine perchance.

As a complete aside, is there anything to House of Brews near Sullivans Island? My sister lives in mt pleasant, and when I visit I usually drink at Colemans PH and hit Bottles, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

 

You are missing a lot, actually. It is one of the better beer bars in Charleston, and it is run by a damn fine American.

 

From a bottle shop perspective or a bar? Since we had the kid, mostly shop and not drink in Charleston.

 

They have a ton of bottles, and the outdoor area is very kid friendly. Tap selection isn't huge, but generally pretty good.

 

I was there today just to see for myself...and I walked right out. I wasn't about to call and ask the new girl.

 

If I tell you I'm not lying I'm not lying. If I said yeah we know the date but I can't say would be one thing but when we say we don't know the release date then obviously it won't be 2 days later

 

Oh no man...it's not like that. I just happened to be right there, so I just stopped by for a second. I already pretty much knew. More than anything it's letting the non-believers know. The funny thing is that my girl was like "Why don't you call and ask if they have it?" LMAO

To get a Westbrook employee to speak truthfully, I hear you have to make them promise to punch you in the dick.

Also I want to rephrase the "insider" comment. I meant "regular". Insider makes it seem like it's some exclusive club which it isn't. Anyone can be a "regular" which some people on here are. Come to Westbrook on a regular basis to drink some good beer and chat with good people without asking questions about every new release. Just come and enjoy some beer that are just our everyday beer without it having to be some whale you can trade and soon you become a regular and find out everyday beer is just as good, if not better than special releases. Then you find out you won't get any special info that everyone else isn't getting, but you will be enjoying good beer with good people and that's what it's all about.
