Hangar 24 is kinda cool. The place itself is newly built I believe, but it does look like an airplane hangar, is situated next to the Redlands Airport, and has a "throwback" aviation theme. Also you can drink facing a beautiful mountainous backdrop.

Superior Bathhouse Brewery and Distillery is a former thermal spring bathhouse on the north end of Bath House Row in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. The hot spring water is piped directly to the brewhouse, just as it was to the thermal spa back in the day. They are the only brewery located in a US National Park. Last I heard, they are putting the finishing touches on their brewhouse and have not started production yet but should be producing any day now. They do serve regional and world-class craft beer and make their own root beer right now and have a simple and tasty food offering.

I'm surprised this didn't come up sooner. They have 50 something locations, and almost all of them are in renovated old buildings.

Here's Kennedy School, a former elementary school in NE Portland:

Here's Edgefield, their flagship property. It used to be a poor farm, and the 7 acre complex has a brewery, winery, distillery, on-site glass blowers, an 18 hole "chip & putt" golf course, hotel, outdoor concert venue, and something like 9 different bars. The best part is that you can wander the grounds while freely drinking beer.

Aerial view taken while there was a concert going on:

Last but not least, one of my favorite spots to see a movie in Portland, the St John's Pub:

Grew up in pa, close to pittsburgh and have been to church many times. Great food but sometimes I've found the beer just to be mediocre but when u mix great food + amazing atmosphere + decent beer is almost always equals an amazing time

Been there and was quite impressed by the grounds/building. The beer was good and the food absolutely delectable.

Taos Mesa Brewing is just a stones throw from the Taos Gorge and provides stunning vistas in all directions. It's located in what I think is an old hangar:

I wish I liked Kelly's Brewpub more and could be proud of it's location and history and such, but really, that place is the dregs of Albuquerque.

Yes - it was. TreeHouse Ohio not to be confused with Treehouse Brewing Monson MA..oh well, i six was nine...

This is a great thread - some very cool stuff being posted. So many breweries, so little gas money after spending money on beer...:slight_frown:

Pretty cool to see Hogshead mentioned. They're quietly one of the best breweries in Denver, and their aesthetic is cool without hitting you over the head with a particular theme.

My favorite is the "Holy Mountain" of the Andechs Abbey:

The Brewerie at Union Station is also in an old train station (Erie, PA)... some decent offerings including a nice chocolate peanut butter porter

*Edit* Could wrap this one into a western PA trip with Church Brew Works as well!

The Long Valley Brewpub just down the street from me is housed in a 200+ year-old stone barn.

Unfortunately, the building has more character than their beer or food.
