Pliny the Elder 12 pack

I never saw the green box but have bought a case (12 bottles) at the brewery before. Actually I only got nine bottles of Pliny and used the other slots for other beers. Either way, they'll fill a box of 12 for you if that's what you want.

 

I remember the days when I could walk into Ramirez and pick up an entire 24 bottle case of it and they would gladly sell it cause it would otherwise sit on the shelf.

Hell, I did that a couple of times.

 

Since the limit of Pliny you can buy at RR increased to 12, they started the 12 packs you speak of.

 

It seems that they change how many you can buy. A month ago when I was there it was 6. 2 months ago it was 12... During PtY release it was 6...

I'll be there Sunday and report back.

 

I was there last weekend and it is back to 6/person.

 

Current bottle limit for Pliny is: (6) I was just there this week and inventory is not lasting very long at all. Staff at RR said they ran out of both Pliny and Blind Pig bottles last week.

 

really?! I recently saw that they had pliny's at ramirez. I was excited, until i saw that they sold out that same day.

 

what about for the sours? I'm headed up next week and wanna know what to expect to bring back. I have literally zero interest in grabbing PtE or BP (though they're decent enough) but I wanna have a cooler full of amazing sours.

I have one for trade BVDL for one empty PtE box

 

They have the new green Pliny boxes but they are just that, boxes. All those in the picture are empty. You are technically allowed a limit of 6 Pliny so you aren't really able to buy a 12pk....not saying you can't get away with it though..it depends on several factors. Bottles are 5.25 each so a 12pk would be 63 dollars.

 

plus you gotta drink em all in the week you buy em

I had 2 friends go a couple weeks back and they both purchased the 12 pack box. It sounds like the limit is back to 6 bottles though.

 

I was there about two weeks ago, and they had a limit of six bottles posted, but there were lots of people leaving with the big green boxes, which I'd never seen before. I remember thinking that it sure looked like those boxes held more than six beers. I didn't care that much, because I was just going to buy a growler anyway, but now I'm curious: anybody know the price of those boxes?

 

Why would you drink such old Pliny? Once it crosses the threshold of the pub it is old, or so I've been told
